Without being able to see how exactly the components were taken apart, it is difficult to definitively say what steps you need to take to put them back together; however, some things to note are: 1) The plastic ring at the very top of the filter itself should not be removed - if it has been, replace it by aligning the four prongs with the four holes in the top of the filter and pressing the ring in until the prongs snap into place. 2) Note that the lid itself is two pieces, a lid “ring” and a removable “top”. Make sure that the top is removed, by turning it counterclockwise until it clicks and then lifting straight up. You can replace the lid once the filter is in place by reversing this action. 3) If it was removed, ensure the silicone band is correctly replaced around the clear plastic lid ring, noting that there is a ridge that runs around the lip just below the top that the band will slip over to stay in place. Note that the top of the silicone band is the “bumpy” side. 4) The filter simply slides into the lid ring, with the black plastic ring at the top of the filter sitting inside it. Note that the filter does not snap into place but just sits on the inside of the lid.
