Book Synopsis
In a multi-day bike race or ride, each day is defined as a stage. As you ride with Peter along the course of his life, you will see that life is made up of stages from which we learn and grow. In 2012 Peter had the privilege of planning and organizing an eight-day multi-stage bike race named The Tour of New Zealand. It's a biennial Tour de France-style event for riders who love the intrigue of competition, but who also carry a passion to raise money for their chosen charity.
Born to Live is a play on those words. It is Peter's life story, one where at every stage there have been choices to make about which road to travel and who to follow. As you read his story, you will be introduced to his 'Coach', the One who has guided, encouraged, and met with Peter at every stage along the way.
A riveting account of faith, generosity, and the significance of a life well-lived.
Review Quotes
"I have enjoyed knowing Peter Yarrell for forty years and have rarely known anyone as positive, exuberant, exciting, and exhilarating! The many different and often remarkable spokes of his wheel find their security in the stabilising hub of his relationship with God, without which you will not understand him. Encouraging, inspiring, sobering, and challenging are all words I use to describe this book."
-Charles Price, Toronto, Canada
"The Tour of New Zealand has not had a start-line without me on it; yes, all six tours! Here on the start line of Born to Live through to the finish line, I have been equally challenged and absorbed."
-Rod Oram, Business Journalist, New Zealand
"In this book you will take a 'virtual ride' through the remarkable life of Peter Yarrell. Prepare to be surprised, amazed and inspired, as you journey with Peter towards his very personal 'finish line'."
-Mike Pollok, Managing Director, Ricoh
