Bouncy Ball Craft Kit- Mondo Llama™

The STEM aspect of this activity is really cool. We loved making bouncy balls together and it was really simple. However, they get rock hard after a couple days.

These turn rock solid and hard within a day and have zero bounce at that point

Loved this kit! The balls turned out cute but they are a little sticky even after drying.

My kids had a blast with this. They are younger than the recommended age so they did require a bit more assistance but they were so excited to make their own bouncy balls. We made about four total since there was extra material left over.

This was a really fun activity, and the balls were super bouncy after making them. Two months later, they are hard as a rock and no longer bouncy. 5 stars for the process of making them but no stars for longevity.

I love Mondo llama craft kits. They are my go to for a weekend projects with my four-year-old and son five-year-old niece. You absolutely cannot beat the prices on their craft sets. This one in particular was very fun. Definitely took some supervision, but the kids loved it! I only knocked off a star because once the little bouncy balls are made if they’re not kept in an airtight container or a plastic bag, they get hard and the kids can’t play with them anymore. But for the money, totally worth!

Easy to do and fun for kids!

Our almost-5-year-old absolutely loved this activity! You only need some old newspaper/placemats (to avoid mess), scissors (to cut open the little packets) and a cup of water. No microwave or anything else needed :) The kit makes 2 large balls or a large ball and 3-4 smaller balls. It doesn't take long; you pour the crystals into the molds and dip them in a cup of water for 10-15 seconds, then lay them out to dry for about 10-15 minutes and voila, you have some perfectly bouncy balls. They bounced pretty well but were a little sticky so bits of carpet fluff or dog hair will get into them. You will have to throw them away after a bit, but it was a fun activity to do with a young child. For the price it was fun and I would definitely buy this to do with my daughter again.

This was a cute activity for kids. It’s about 15 minutes of fun but that’s it. It makes one small ball and one larger ball. The larger ball has a flashing light inside. You pour crystals into the molds, dip it in water and wait for it to set. You might want to hold the mold closed while it sets. Our mold popped open and required us to squish it back down to make the ball round. But it worked and the balls looked good and bounced!! It was not very messy either which is a plus in my book!
