The classic dan dan noodle dish originated in Chengdu, China in the 1800s where it spread across Asia and evolved into various forms. Our version of the classic dan dan sauce is inspired by the Hong Kong version, made with creamy, nutty sesame and a touch of aromatic, tingly Sichuan peppercorns.
