Braun IPL Silk·expert Pro 5 PL5145 Hair Removal for Women & Men, White and Gold

I’ve been using the IPL for about 8 weeks and I’m shocked at how well it has worked. When I bought it I was skeptical how well it would work, but I’m so glad I bought it!! I had to shave every day and would have stubble by bedtime. I could see the hair even after shaving in the pores. I absolutely hated how hairy I was!! I gave in and bought this after I had a hysterectomy and had to take hormones that made my facial hair worse. I only wish I would have bought one sooner! If you are thinking about it just do it you will be so happy you gave it a try!! I’ve even started to use it on my husbands back.

I have waited to write this review since I bought this last year in 2021. I had low testosterone and went on pellets which really brought out the lovely dark Hispanic hair on my face (especially around my sideburns, lip, chin, and under my chin). I started out by using the Silk Expert Pro 5 every week for the 12 weeks it says to do it. I think I made to week 4 and then started to use it as needed. This thing has been a life saver at removing and reducing my dark hair! It has also saved me so much money. My mother has been doing laser hair removal at laser center and has paid more for her set of sessions than I have in purchasing this. I am now in just touch up mode as I see some spots of dark hair on my face and legs. Overall this purchase has been the best one I have ever made.

I bought it 3 months ago and it din't work for me. I have light skin with dark hair but no results and it gets too hot after 3 minutes of using and it burns the skin

I have very sparse and patchy leg hair, but pretty bad growth in my underarm. I hate shaving because I always miss spots which is very annoying. I've tried alot of things, but the constant upkeep and maintenance of threading, waxing, and shaving is just too much. I decided to splurge and get the Braun silk expert after ALOT of researching, watching youtube reviews and cross comparison to other IPL's. I didn't want to take the chance on a no-name brand or anything made overseas. The Braun did take a little longer to ship, but was very well packaged. I love the gorgeous zip container it comes in. The zipper is sturdy and made of metal and not cheap plastic. It is very easy to use, simply plug in, choose the suitable head and zap away. It does feel like a little rubber band snapping against your skin, but you really get used to it. I do recommend shaving (the included razor is great!). If you don't you will get the smell of singed hair during the process but that is the only difference I noticed between using with or without shaving. I'll put on a short TV show or binge on Youtube and zap away. Now the results. I've been using this once a week for 3 weeks. There is VERY little re-growth. My underarm hair barely is there, and the ones that are comes out super easy with a tweezer. Before, they would cling to the follicle for dear life and I would be so determined to get them out that I would end up scarring myself or getting in grown hair. For my hair type, I don't think extended use is necessary, but that is going to be different for everyone. The only downside is I wish this included sunglasses. The instructions say the light is safe without one, but it is extremely bright so I either look away, close my eyes or use a pair of very dark shades when I use this. I've recommended this to everyone I know Yes it is an investment, but the number of uses you get in return and the results are worth it in my opinion.

I started using it in November. My hair grows fast so I used it every 5 days on my face, arms, legs and bikini line. I am amazed with the results over 2 months. Still dealing with a few stubborn hairs here and there, but can’t believe it’s this effective after 2 months. Wish this product was available 10 years ago before some of my dark hair turned white! I definitely recommend it.

I have had this product for over a year and it’s amazing. I had done salon laser treatments on small areas but wanted to do my legs as well as touch up areas that had grown back without worrying about appointments and cost. This machine was been amazing. I am fair and had dark coarse hair. Before this i would shave and start to see hair the next day on my legs. I now have probably about 80% of my hair completely gone and the bit that does grow back grows much slower, thinner and lighter. Was recently on a beach trip for 5 days and only shaved one time for minimal hair that no one would notice but myself. Very effective and convenient. Other than the initial few months i have been very inconsistent with using maybe once every two months so I’m sure if i was more consistent i would have closer to 100% hair gone

Have had this for several months now. Works really well! IMO it’s better than my salon results. After about 7 weeks of use, I stopped having to shave altogether. Now I use it sporadically to maintain.

I have light skin and dark, coarse hair that I've always been self- conscious about. I was to the point that I had to epilate so that shaving was effective because the hair on my legs was so dense. I'm on my third treatment on my legs and most of it has stopped growing. This machine has so many safety mechanisms that I don't worry that I'm going to burn my skin. It doesn't hurt (especially if you've endured epilation or waxing) and I've experienced NO post treatment irritation or ingrown hairs (again, unlike I do with epilation or waxing). If you're considering a purchase, do it. Your only regret will be not doing it sooner!

I purchased this in April 2020. I used it as directed and then on and off for over a year. Now in December 2021 80-90% of the hair has grown back. It is patchy and thinner but I still have to shave regularly. I am pretty disappointed with this product and would not recommend it.

This device works wonder for me. I have used it on upper lips, arms and my armspits. Now, i only using it once a month because i only have few hair left. Please, make a device for spider veins removal .

I have dark hair and medium Caucasian skin. Using it in mustache and chin area. Noticeably less hair in two months. Zap stings a little, but does not hurt. Quick - just use after night face wash. Surprised and happy.

I am a several weeks into using and I have to say I already see results!!! I am a bit tan but it's fading and my hair is really dark I am guessing it will work better as my tan fades! Below my belly button is clear and under my chin is much less hair! My thighs are smooth and with a few more weeks use I am hoping my lower legs are hair free!!!

I got my Pro IPL a month ago and the results I'm having are wonderful. Even my skeptical husband is surprised. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star is because instructions are not really detailed. Specially the cleaning and maintenance part. The head of my product is getting black spots and instructions just say "clean right" away but don't explain how and I haven't been able to remove them. And each time I use it it gets more and more and can't do much . I'm worried the performance is going to go bad after a while

I’ll miss playing with them in traffic, but I work from home now!
