A: It might mean Position. -try alternative way of placing the Thermometer in the ear. Check the booklet it came with. It should say there but that would be my guess
submitted byMimi - 8 years agoA: We will be happy to help you. Please make sure that you are following the steps below to ensure an accurate reading: 1. Always make sure the sensor lens is clean. You may clean the sensor lens by gently rubbing it with a Q-tip with isopropyl/rubbing alcohol. Once this is done, please allow the thermometer to dry for about 10 minutes, as the rubbing alcohol has a cooling effect. 2. Be sure to use a probe tip cover with this thermometer with each use to prevent any build up or damage from occurring to the sensor lens. 3. For proper placement, do not twist or force the thermometer when it is in someone’s ear, as this will point the sensor away from the eardrum and result in an inaccurate reading. A: it comes with batteries. had it 6 days and the screen message was Lo, for low battery.

Q: hi. why does thermometer display Lo battery after only 3 uses? it reads that the position is off. Does not read temp after each reading. have to do it several times. do not recommend

I like how it’s fast and lights up but I use it and get a temp of like 98.1 then I run it again just to see if I get the same reading and then it will say something outrageous like 99.7 then again 97.9 it makes me so frustrated because my child has seizures, he’s 2 and I kind of need to know how warm he is to prevent him from getting one. I think it’s a joke when it does that and cannot trust it….. disappointed especially when you spend your last on something and your a single mom on a fixed income. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

This thermometer is really easy to use and is so quick BUT the display doesn’t light up which makes it really hard to check temps at night when the kids are sleeping. My bad for not checking if it had that feature but otherwise I really like this thermometer.

I use this on my baby whenever he is sick. it is very precise and reliable. it is also easy to use. it is more accurate than temporal models but easier to use than rectal which is the most accurate way to check a baby's temperature. I bought one for my cousin who is expecting her first baby also. my whole family uses this now. we just change the probe covers.

It gives different readings on each ear. How could it be off by so much? 101.3 in one ear, and 99.7 in the other? Which one is accurate? Once it gave me a reading of 104.1 to my toddler, so I rushed to the hospital and when I got there the triage nurse took the temp and it was 98.7 within 15 minutes of the 104 reading. Inaccurate thermometer at its best!

Best thermometer ever! I was gifted our original one at my baby shower 10 years ago and it’s still going strong! I bought this one as a back up (temporarily lost the other) and my only complaint is it doesn’t come with a storage case like the original. The case was great because you use it to also store those little protective plastic things in it. Now I have to keep track of that tiny box (because you know it will never find its way back to where it belongs) and try to keep it from falling open and spilling (because you know those tabs never stay closed) Yay. Just what all moms love; more work! If you can find one with a case, do yourself a favor, and get that one. It will save what little sanity you have left when your kid wakes up at 3am puking and you can’t find those darn protective things. It would also be nice if the screen was back lit, again, for the middle of the night.

Just got this thermometer and chose the brand because I wanted one I could trust. They are so expensive but I really needed one. I got home and realized you can only use it with disposable covers. So basically when I run out and my kid has a fever I’m supposed to go out and waste money on covers at 2 am? No. SO annoyed. I am returning for a different brand. Also I found the temp to seem a little inaccurate as others mentioned.

I Bought this after I was convinced my $10 Target Therometer was inaccurate. Nope, they were within few tenths of each other. I don't like how temps can vary between ears though (Like A Few Degrees). And I don't like how if there is a fever, there isnt an alert (lights up or beeps).

Awful ! Lack of Quality Control By Target

Misguided user manual - 3 years ago
Item surprisingly came in damaged, busted and opened. Missing batteries which usually included. The item obviously is either used by someone in previous or a recent returned item. Box NOT sealed properly. (No tape seal firmly placed on top of the box) . Ear Scan Sensor is also damaged unable to provide accurate body temperature. Target REALLY needs to do some quality control in this case especially when it come with medical equipment that's used during pandemic. Very Disappointed... Just Terrible ! NO STAR.
