You may clean the sensor lens by gently rubbing it with a Q-tip with isopropyl/rubbing alcohol. Once this is done, please allow the thermometer to dry for about 10 minutes, as the rubbing alcohol has a cooling effect. 2. Be sure to use a probe tip cover with this thermometer with each use to prevent any build up or damage from occurring to the sensor lens. 3. For proper placement, do not twist or force the thermometer when it is in someone’s ear, as this will point the sensor away from the eardrum and result in an inaccurate reading.
