After years of painstaking research, Rachel, Brazilian Bare's Founder & Chief Beauty Officer, has gathered a number of important "tips and tricks" that will help you achieve the closest, smoothest shave possible as well as care for your skin.
General Shaving Tips:
Always shave in the shower or bathtub. This allows the steam/warm water to soften your skin and hair, making it easier to shave.
There are two components of a close, smooth shave: The razor and the shave cream/gel (or syrup) that you choose to use. Don't skimp on either because, as Mom used to say, "You'll only be hurting yourself!". We recommend using a five-blade razor that vibrates and, yes, Brazilian Bare Shave Syrup. We've found that regular disposable blades, while cheap and easy to use, simply don't perform nearly as well and traditional shave creams and gels don't provide maximum protection from the rigors of shaving.
Replace the blade as soon as you feel it is starting to get dull. The number of shaves you can get from a single blade will vary on a number of things including how well you clean it and how big the areas are that you are shaving.
Shave downward first. This allows you to go "with the grain", minimizing "pulling" and razor irritation/ingrown hairs.
Shave using short strokes (your legs are an exception). This allows for better razor control and can minimize nicks and cuts.
Try to pull your skin taut/tight. As long as this doesn't result in discomfort, this will help the razor's blade glide smoothly over your skin and result in fewer nicks and cuts.
Never press too hard while shaving ... the razor should be allowed to do all of the work without much pressure from you.
Shave as often as you need it. Staying "on top" of hair removal helps ensure that shaving is as easy and painless as possible.

The Holy Grail for Sensitive Skin
The BEST shaving product I’ve ever used. My skin is very sensitive and I always have breakout/ingrowns. I’ve tried just about every product under the sun and still ended up with red bumps and discomfort. After using this, my skin is so smooth and bump free! The closeness of the shave is also unmatched. Liquid gold syrup!
Amazingly close shave!! This shave syrup has blown my mind! I can’t understand the bad reviews I read below when trying to decide if I should try it. All I can think is user error? I am a product junkie, always looking for my next holy grail! Well this is it! I have spent way more on premium brand shave syrups and oils at Ulta. While they were very nice this, much cheaper, product has surpassed all others! I achieved the closest shave of my life w/o depleting all moisture in my skin. It is important for me to note that I have extremely dry, sensitive skin and I struggle with ingrown hairs. I haven’t had a single issue using this liquid gold! If you’ve ever tried Tree hut shave oil and liked it just wait until you try this! It’s honestly that good! This will have a forever home in my shower.

Better than shaving creams
A little goes a long way with this stuff and the lather isn’t too bad! I personally like to see the hair I’m shaving so there isn’t a foam or anything interfering with me seeing the hairs. It rinses off clean and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth.

I should have trusted the bad reviews of this product but the packaging caught my eye and decided I would try this. First of all, this smells nothing like coconut. I was expecting it to smell similar to Sun Bum Sunscreen or the tropical Skintimate Shaving Cream. It smells extremely chemically. Second, it didn't even get rid of all my underarm hair even with using a brand new razor. Keep using whatever you typically use for shaving cream but this is terrible.

I have dark thick body hair and have struggled for years with nicks, razor burn, itching, etc. The first time I used this I was like “ok this is nice.” It wasn’t until I was on vacation and only had my old eos travel size shaving cream that I realized how good this stuff was.
