Outstanding Printer
New purchase but VERY impressed so far. Setup was easy, connected to my WiFi automatically, it's quiet, fast and yields good prints. I will update after a few months use.

Great but
Great machine, clean printing. However I have struggled getting it to connect or reconnect to WiFi so the headache I was trying to solve for still persists at this high price I have seconds about the purchase.

Never again
My late wife switched us to Brother, thought I'd buy this since I have an Inkjet and Brother program already. I regret buying it. The various set up options are fidgety, and take multiple attempts. Worse, it disconnects periodically, turning a simple print job into a re-install ordeal. Print quality is good. Last Brother I'll buy.

Ok but not great
I don’t expect really vivid colors from a color laser. But this printer smears the red, and shows banding with regular paper. With thick paper, even setting for thick paper and using the MP tray ( and opening the back) the banding is very noticeable.

Sharp printing but not good for pictures
The printer has sharp output. It works great through my wifi network. I tested remote printing from my iPhone in San Diego to my home in Reno. Color printing does a decent job but I cannot get the color on any of my computer monitors to the printer’s output to match. Photo printing is only just okay. I tried adjusting the settings through the browser on the printer with only minimal improvement. An inkjet printer or printing to a drug store would give better results.

Impressed with my first color laser jet
Colors not as vivid as with an ink jet printer. Start up a bit slow. Duplex printing reasonably fast, but not impressively so. Major positives: no clogged ink jets. I've wasted lots of liquid ink trying to clear clogged ink jets; this color laserjet doesn't have that issue, a major plus. Colors seem adequate for normal office stuff, but not for photos; ink jets allowed making photo prints. Auxiliary paper tray a big plus; Allows multiple sheets / checks to be fed using the manual tray. Overall, a dedicated printer, no scan function; does the job without complaint.

I really like the way it prints. The set up was not so nice. I just fought with itself to get the wireless connection configured.

Color is disapointing

Hopefully longer life
The print quality is not quite as sharp as the HL-3170CDW that was replaced. I have expectations that this printer will last longer. The HL-3170CDW needed all the drums replaced at 2500 prints. That is 12500 prints shy of what they are rated for.

Dependable, Just Not as Good as My Old One
I bought this Brother printer to replace a 10-year-old Brother color laser printer that I loved. This one is good, but not as good as that old one. (I could no longer get software to use it with my state-of-the-art Apple laptop.) The print doesn't seem as crisp. That's my main complaint. The speed and color are good and I like the low profile of the machine.

Clean and beautiful print
This color laser printer is everything I hoped for! The print quality, both in black and white and in color, is excellent. I no longer have the issue of my color cartridges drying out (as I did with my color ink jet printer), which is the main reason I decided to switch to this printer. It is also very reasonably priced for its quality and features. The print speed is reasonable, even on duplex. It’s not very loud, whether asleep or printing, and it works seamlessly with all my devices. I have not yet printed anything on photo paper, but I expect it be excellent on that as well. I couldn’t be happier with this printer! I love it!

Not complex setup
My 2nd Brother laser color printer. Easy to setup and use. I don’t even look at other brands! Reliable!! I only had to buy another one because power outages fried the first one that I had for 12 years and still worked perfectly.

Terrible WiFi
This printer is decent unless you want to use wifi instead of having it hard wired to your network. It constantly disconnects from our shops wifi one or more times a day. Literally nothing else disconnects from our wifi setup except for this printer.

Disappearing text
It is quiet, easy to set up, and prints envelopes with ease. I would give it 5 stars but for one misgiving. Several of our Christmas cards were returned to us because the addressee moved or died, Their appearance shocked me. The adddress had faded - not just a bit. It was hardly readable. I'm concerned that the toner did not adhere well to the holiday envelopes. It did not smudge. It was as if it had been printed in invisible ink and I was looking at it just before it disappeared altogether.

The best printer!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is seriously the best printer I’ve ever owned. It is a bit larger but I get that for all that it does. The set up was beyond easy. The colors and prints are clear and vibrant. It’s so quick and easy to hook up for wifi printing!
