About this item
Highlights
- Moreover, the 35mm features a circular aperture with nine blades that creates a powerful ‘bokeh effect’ (blurred background). The lens includes Optical Image Stabilizer technology that reduces camera shake and brings incredible sharpness to your photos.
- To add to its benefits, the lens features Subwavelength Coating (SWC) that reduces lens ghosting and flare as well as a fluoride coating that safeguards against damage from smear and fingerprints. Lastly, the 35m comes equipped with aspheric lens and UD elements which protect the lens from visual imperfections and correct for chromatic aberration.
- For brilliant landscapes, portraits and close-up photography, look no further than the EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM. It helps provide a level of clarity and resolving power that can be an ideal complement to the latest generation of Canon’s high-resolution SLRs.
- The EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM has an effective focal length of 35mm on full-frame cameras and 56mm on APS-C cameras, and helps capture beautiful detail with minimal chromatic aberration and color fringing thanks to Canon’s new BR optics element.
- It also has a fast, 9-blade maximum aperture of f/1.4 for impressive performance in low-light conditions and beautiful, soft backgrounds. And, like other L-series lenses, the EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM has dust and water sealing.

I had been taking a 24-105 F4 and also a 16-35mm for portrait and landscape shots. While the 24-105 F4 is an excellent lens at 35mm, the 16-35mm II @ 35mm just didn't cut the mustard even with profile correction. After reading many reviews and seeking out lens align test shots, the 35mm 1.4 II came into view. This is one serious lens. Super fast, sharp, excellent bokeh and a superior portrait/landscape lens all in this one prime.

Amazing lens. Everything I thought it would be and saw from doing my research. It’s heavy but definitely worth it.

I rented this lens before buying and fell in love with it. It's easily my favorite lens in my kit. I'm not a pro by any means but this lens just takes the cleanest and tack sharp photos. Highly recommend if you're in the market for a 35mm fixed.

I bought this a few months ago but because of a combo of bad weather and some illnesses, I haven't gotten to use it that much. However, the few times I did the lens exceeded my expectations. One use: I took pre-race photos of a 10K and it gave me some of the best group and indoor shots I have ever taken with my 5D. I switched to a telephoto for the action shots outdoors but I probably would have done just as well with this lens.

This is the best lens I have ever used. I owned a Nikon D750 and I switched over to Canon just for this lens, I know.. crazy right? The sharpness and the depth of field is amazing. I love the low light capabilities and the focusing is much better than my Nikon/sigma. I’ve been really impressed with it. Don’t second guess yourself and buy this lens!

I used this in Portugal for landscape and street photography with 5D MkIII. I am extremely happy with the sharpness, speed of auto focus, and low-light abilities. The lens hood is each to attach and reverses for storage. I especially like the lens cap improvement with center squeeze so you don't get fingertips on the glass.

I am a big fan of Canon gear, but I'm not completely sold on their wider angle prime lenses, due to sharpness and other image quality issues. I own this lens and it steps up the bar for canon. My sharpest Canon lens seems to be the 135 f2 L, which has pretty much no visible CA, and crazy sharpness. The 85mm L is also pretty amazingly sharp. This lens is worth it. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the 50mm L. The Sigma beats it on image quality and price. My tests are with a 5DSR, so it's really pushing the detail envelope.

This lens is great for portraits, street photography, and landscapes. Pictures are so sharp that you can crop without impacting the shot when you is shooting too wide for what you ideally want. This lens is almost always on my camera now.

I bought this lens after I bought the Sigma 1.4 Art. I loved the images I was getting with the Sigma in terms of the quality of the focal range and color -- everything really. EXCEPT, I was using it primarily in very low light and was having consistent issues with Auto-Focus in low light wide open. I traded it back in and spent double to buy this lens. It is much better focusing in the low light for me.
