BEWARE!! I bought this Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT flash on the Target website and paid a premium price ($833 after tax) for it assuming it was new. IT WAS USED! No manual or other accessories that normally come with this flash were provided. The good news is that I was able to take it to a local Target and easily return it. Target should stop doing business with their "partner company, BuyDirect and Save" in New York that shipped this item. Alternatively, they should update their website to clearly indicate the advertised item is USED. This flash model can be purchased used at a fraction of the cost. I've seen the same flash advertised as new for less than I paid the this one, but I preferred to pay a little more and purchase it through Target because they're everywhere in Southern California and relatively responsible when it comes to correcting issues like this.

Excellent flash hampered by transmitter issues
The 600EX II-RT works great on its own. However, I have 4. As a wedding photographer, I need my on-camera and remote flashes to reliable function in a different building every weekend. The built-in wireless triggers are unreliable. Depending on the building, the connection between the on-camera flash and the remote flashes will drop every few minutes. The only way to reconnect is turn each remote flash off and on again. This is a completely unacceptable level of reliability for the price and totally unworkable in a professional event setting. I'll be selling mine.

My best light assistant
My best light investment and a good combination with my EOS 5D mark IV. Easy to use and manipulate.

Very good Speedlite but watch out for other 2.4 ghz devices!
I bought 3 of these Speedlites along with the ST-E3-RT Transmitter. It's a great setup with plenty of power. The menu and display is easy to use with a day or two of using them. I used the radio link in a large room and they worked great. The only issue I found is my home Google WIFI extenders interfere with the signal. The "Link" drops after a few minutes no matter what channel I put the Speedlites on including the Auto setting. I don't think this is really an issue with the Speedlite, but it's something to be aware of if you set up in a place with devices searching for a 2.4ghz band. The Speedlites also have an optical option to fire as a backup.

Speedlite 580EXII replacement
Integrates well with the camera but is heavier and bigger than the Speedlite 580EXII it is replacing. Features about the same and way more expensive.

All around a great flash!
All around a great flash!! Puts out really clean and even light, easy to use, and pretty light weight. I’d highly recommend!

Excellent gear, poor support
I can’t carry the Speedlight Instruction manual with me in the field, but I do carry an iPad: think it would be easy to download the manual in PDF form onto my iPad — but it doesn’t exist! Same applies to the ST-E3-RT Speedlite Transmitter. Complex gear like this deserves — requires — a PDF manual so that we can troubleshoot problems or figure out how to take full advantage of the Speedlight systems’ complexity in the field. Unfortunately, we don’t get one.

Top-Notch Speedlight
I love this Speedlight. This is a replacement for the 430EX-III RT. Every single feature is a most in a speedlight. The flash is much bigger than the 430EX-III RT, but who cares, there's always room for it. My advice, don't ever leave it behind and try to find a place for it in your photography bag. Speedlights have always plaid a good part in my photography, because light and focus are for me the two most important things in photography. Canon you did a good job on this.

Great speedlite!
Bought this speedlite a few weeks ago I found it to be easy to use. Definitely a big step-up from the 430ex ii in terms of the amount of light that comes out of this speedlite, I am very pleased with it!

I need 2 more of these Great Speedlites!
This a great feature filled Flash. Leave it in ETTL and it is precise. Manual mode gives you full control. Just a great flash. Need to add 2 more.

Great light, excellent TTL, wonderful flexibility.
I have been using my Speedlite 600EX II-RT for well over 2 years and I love it. At first, I kept it on manual and was delighted with the flexibility of the swivel head and the adjustable output. These days I use more TTL and the results are pristine. I use it in studio and out, paired with two monolights vis-a-vis strobie transmitters and receivers and on the road with a Rogue Flashbender or a Lastolite portable softbox.
