Versatile and Durable Low Cost Grill

Not only is it a traditional BBQ grill for hot dogs and burgers, this grill strong enough and hot enough to support a 12 inch cast iron pan and cook cooking pancakes and eggs. Your Coleman stove can't do both. Tilt lid and recessed heating element make it wind resistant and water resistant. Worked perfectly in the wind and rain on a camping trip in upstate NY. It's also easy to clean. Not quite hot enough to boil water, but this grill does much more than advertised. Best value. Buy it today!

It works great no doubt but the paint comes off.. My first time using it yesterday and when i used it, the paint starts to peel off the grill and the bottom the grill turns white . It feels like it was poorly made because it was the bottom and the backside was peeled off. I trusted the brand but i wasnt expecting that to happen on a first run.

We bought this grill to take camping. It's took backbreaking to bend over and campfire to cook all of the time and this is so compact and just the right size for a family of 5. It was wonderful and even when it rained some, we could put it on the porch of the "camping cabin" and cook away. Love it!

Used 3-5 times a week for two years, the only thing that wore out on the old one was the heater tube and heater grate. Didn't know at the time you could order these parts, but I did order as a replacement on the new one I got. Great for a single guy, cook burgers , fish, chicken in record time.

Bad Flame Action

I used this one time to cook a ribeye steak. Couldn't get any flames to lick the steak so it didn't develop any flavor. I think the burner plate below the actual grill is a lousy design.

This is no-frills. Limited applications. Limited features. Well built, if you put it together yourself & over-engineer it a bit. I replaced the included screws (which work just fine) with M6 machine screws. Add a couple of washers and lock washers, and your grill will be sturdier than it needs to be. Lid & firebox are well made. Handles are plastic & acceptable since you won't be doing anything more than picking it up when you're transporting it. Vent holes on the bottom cannot not be closed. Louvered style air vents on 1 side of lid cannot be closed. You will only be using lump charcoal and wood chips with this. Bigger chunks of wood will not fit. Plan on soaking overnight, enough wood chips to completely cover your briquettes. Briquettes will tend to settle towards the middle of the charcoal rack. Once briquettes are hot, smother with pre-soaked wood chips. Give up any thoughts you may have had about cooking large pieces like a whole prime rib, turkey, suckling pig, goose, or anything even halfway ambitious. So where does that leave you with this little grill? Where that leaves you is with plenty of chops, burgers, steaks, chicken, fish, veggies, Korean short ribs, any kind of meat on a stick, marshmallow s'mores, et cetera. There are times when you just don't need to build a big fire in your big kettle. For tailgating, you could do a dozen hot links at a time. I've successfully fired this little grill up in my fireplace for sleepovers when the kids wanted to cook their own hot dogs. Although I would not really recommend that anyone else light a fire or use a bbq indoors. However, with a little panache, you can accomplish a lot. This grill does offer enough surface. I've made a single rack of ribs for when only one rack will feed both of us. Cut your chicken in half and roast it bone side down. Tomato, onion, and peppers are the base for a great fire roasted salsa. Instead of deep frying, flame broiled Buffalo wings are always a hit. We had a dinner party for 10 people, and did it Korean BBQ style in the backyard with this little grill since all the cuts of meat were already well marinated and sliced thin. And just because you cant do the Tur-Duck-Ken, you can still do quail, cornish game hens, bacon wrapped oysters, oysters in the shell, lobster, crab, and most small game that you can capture when camping. While this may not be the ideal tool for large parties, you can work wonders with proper temperature control and timing. This is not a disposable unit. It is built for the long haul. While not designed to have a lifetime warranty, you can get years of use out of this.
