I want to start off by saying that I absolutely love the smell of this product. It keeps my hair smelling great all day. I’m going to have to disagree with some of the other reviews where they say it’s a lightweight product. I feel it is a little bit dense and heavy especially if you don’t use it on super wet hair. It applies really easily like a leave in conditioner almost it has that type of feel to the consistency. I make sure to apply it when mine and my daughters hair is really wet it acts like a great conditioning and anti frizz treatment. I would definitely say it makes my waves in my daughters curls a lot more put together looking. The immediate effects are seen, and I am excited to continue using for both of us to see the long term affects of using this product.

I am so excited to share my review for this product, I waited a long time for this product because I STRUGGLE with shrinkage! One thing I wanted to try on my beauty journey this summer was a product that could help me retain the length of my hair without needing the product buildup I receive when using gels or mousses. Here in Texas, the humidity is no joke! With the Cheribe Length Retention Leave-In Conditioner, I was captivated by the name (of course) and the design. I don’t see a lot of blue packaging in the curly girl industry, and this product packaging with the gold foil decals definitely caught my attention. Another thing that caught my attention was the extensive list of ingredients. I’ve never used chebe seeds before on my hair, and it sounded very enticing with the sunflower seed since I was used to using sunflower oil for my hair. I think it was this ingredient that made my hair super soft and manageable when using the leave-in for my twistouts. And the best part of it all is the clean, fresh scent this conditioner has. It is perfect for layering because it isn’t overbearing or lingers too long. I wasn’t ready for the thickness of the product, with the bottle listing itself as a product for hair ranges 2A-4C, I would suggest using a small portion and gradually adding to that amount as you go. I made the mistake of not doing so the first time and I wasn’t very happy with my results. The second time I used it, I dried my hair a bit more than before so I didn’t have a leftover residue on my ends. I would say this product would require a bit of playing around with as a length retaining leave-in conditioner if you are somebody like me who desires to replace a gel or mousse with a product that can “do more with less.” I like the product, but it wouldn’t be something I would see myself using if I am going to do a “wash and go” style, as the product itself isn’t necessarily “curly girl friendly” – it does what it says it is going to do, and does it well. The bottle mentions being a “style primer” and if I view this “primer” like a makeup primer, then I could agree. My hair was ready for a style, the curl pattern though was nonexistent. I used Cheribe on freshly washed hair, deep conditioned too. My curls were popping! But, after smoothing some of the product in my hair, I was losing my definition…So I wouldn’t suggest this product to my curly girls unless you are going to braid your hair or style your hair with this product. In the added photo, this is with very minimal product, and you can still see residue on my ends...I didn’t see any drastic hair growth, but adding this product to my twistout routine would give me more time to really see the difference.

I just heard about this brand Cherebe and I absolutely love the heritage of it being in Africa and the beautiful fragrance that this carries that smells so lush and fruity and reminds me of a paradise. I have tried to use this on soaking wet hair like it recommends and found it easy to work through at the formula is quite thick so the water in my hair made it more of a workable formula. I also tried this on towel dried very damp hair and it still yielded the same shiny results although it felt alot thicker to put on and harder to distribute. I have 2c hair and I have super wavy/curly hair. Some days it's more wavy other day more curly. This product has brought forward shine and crazy managibility to my blonde/black dual colored hair. It almost leaves like a pretty gloss in your hair. I really enjoy the ingredients in this as I have never heard of the chebe seeds and that's an interesting ingredient to me.
