Description
Exquisite Chiostro di Saronno embossed gift tin's design inspired by the company's historical archive, in intricate details. It is filled with traditional amaretti in 3 assorted flavors: Crunchy Amaretti, Soft Amaretti, and Soft Amaretti with Chocolate Chips. Each of these delicious amaretti cookies is individually wrapped for hygiene and freshness, and the colorful signature wrappers make a wonderful display. When you have eaten all the cookies, you can keep the tin as a decorative storage container for your home or a cookie jar. The tin is collectible. The cookies are Gluten-free.
According to legend, the Cardinal of Milan made a surprise visit to the town of Saronno, near Milan in Italy, and two young lovers prepared the cookies in his honor. With only short notice of his visit they had few ingredients to work with - just sugar, egg whites, and apricot kernels. So they baked these into small round macarons, which had a slight bittersweet taste that they called "Amaretti" (a little bitter in Italian) and wrapped them in elegant, colorful paper.
