Description
Clos Pegase is renowned for its handcrafted collection of award-winning wines, sourced exclusively from their 410 acres of estate vineyards. In the glass, the wine pours dark purple and opaque. On the nose, rich aromas of tobacco, anise, fresh leather and a touch of ripe plum bring complexity and depth. As the wine opens up in the glass, aromas of blackberry brier and cocoa lead way to a softy and silky palate. The acidity is soft and persistent, complimenting the bold palate weight of this wine. Pair this beautiful wine with braised ossobuco, lemon couscous and grilled eggplant.

This deep red Clos Pegase Cabernet Sauvignon is very fruit forward and finishes with strong tannins. The jammy fruit gives it a nice chew and reminds me of cherry licorice. Pairs well with heavier dishes like meat and pasta. I was very pleased with this wine and would look for it again.

Clos Pegase already great but will age well!
This cabernet was beautiful on first taste albeit a little rough around the edges. After an hour or so it began to really develop the flavor core with bright blackberry, spicy plum, a little tobacco and a very long finish. I think it would improve greatly if cellared for awhile as it has the structure to last and has tons of ripe fruit.

We opened the Clos Pegase Cabernet last night and was impressed with the bright full fruit flavors from the start. Gobs of blackberry and fruity plum, with a full tannic load that needed some time to calm down. Some oaky, smoky aromas also rounded out the outstanding wine. Highly recommended

I sipped on this after dinner and I'm glad I did because with it's 15% alcohol content, a little went a long way. Strong introduction of tart berry notes, then opens to a earthy aroma with some creaminess that can only be credited to its malolactic fermentation... kind of like a wild stallion that was tamed. It would taste great with a beef stew, lamb, roasts, or dark chocolate...yum!

A Great Napa Cabernet!
If you like big Napa cabs then this wine is for you! I had the privilege of visiting this winery in 2019 and fell in love with all their wines. When I saw this Cabernet at Target I picked up a bottle for Easter and the family was beyond impressed -- and it reminded me of my great visit!
