A: I will suggest against using it as a step stool for anyone over 160lbs, not stable and will damage it... from what I have witnessed.

It is perfect as additional seating or as an extra table space as it comes with a removable top lid for stowing throws, magazines and other items. I was disappointed when I received this ottoman and opened the package to find on the inside the Prop65 warning. While most people may overlook that and find it to be an unnecessary warning, I try to avoid items like this, especially around my daughter. It is such a blanketed warning with no way to truly know what chemical may or may not be in the product. It may be just be a slight chance one of the chemicals were used in the facility where the product was made, or a part of the product was made with one of those chemicals. I check for that in every listed item before ordering and it was not listed when I ordered it. Had it been listed, I would not have ordered and would not have reviewed.

Great design, very sturdy for the price. The main problem is that they have a foul odor which does not dissipate even after leaving them open to air for *weeks*. A more minor problem is that the plastic around the hole on the bottom falls off, though at least that is easily fixed with super glue.
