While I do lie the curtain I think it should let you know it doesn't come with instructions or a string.

This is a very lovely curtain. It's a "'balloon shade"' window valance that shows in the picture that it is cinched up. It comes with little plastic rings sewn across the curtain, but it doesn't come with string and or instructions on how to cinch it up to create the "balloon shade" affect. I'm going to have to use it as just a plain window panel which is ok, but I really wanted to use it as it is shown in the picture.
