Column Large Lamp Base Black - Threshold™

Ordered online and it was delivered broken. It was wrapped in flexible paper but not really padded enough. The flimsy plastic breaks at the socket on top. This one was the 4th one I’ve purchased to replace the second of the original pair I bought several years ago. They can last a few years but when they break it’s always at the socket and from normal usage. I like the style that’s why I’ve replaced my original pair. If this last one doesn’t last (and I have drive 30 minutes to return it to the store and purchase a new one there)…I’m buying a much better quality of lamps for my bedroom.

I don't usually post review but after seeing all of the negative reviews of this lamp, I had to come on and post one. We have loved this lamp and the shorter version of it! Our family has used this lamp and the shorter version of it for many years in our home. We also have a set of them in our RV & they travel well without getting damaged. My daughter now also has a set in her house. They have held up well for us, good quality. Change the lampshade to create different looks.

Fits beautifully on my Glass round Side table top between two brown leather chairs! I topped it off with a beautiful contoured, Victorian Scalloped with fringe shade It’s Gorgeous! Heavily weighted at bottom which I’m very happy about Great Purchase

Cane broken, returned to store

I have used this lamp in two different homes - love it!

We’ve gone through three of these bases in the last 5 years. The top (that holds the lightbulb and connects to the shade) is fairly fragile. Twice now our kids have straightened the lampshade too aggressively and cracked the base enough to cause the lightbulb connection to stop working. We kept replacing the base so it would match the other in the living room but I think it’s time to upgrade!

It's tall enough and weighs enough I don't think it'll get knocked over. The base isn't sturdy, though, because it got cracked even though it was wrapped in layers of paper (shipping it in a box that was too big for it probably didn't help). Also, the switch knob got knocked off and ended up cracked -- a small piece of it broke off when I screwed it back onto the switch. Since the crack in the base is in the back and I'm using a smart bulb with the lamp (I don't need to use the switch often) I decided to keep it.

Perfect height for foyer table!

Love the look of this lamp, but when you turn it on it goes on and off for hours. It does not stay on. I've tried multiple outlets and bulbs, so it is the lamp.

Picked up 3 of these and they all were cracked at the base.

Well it came smashed to bits. There was only air puffs on the top of the lamp, none under it which is the fault of whomever packed it and the smashed box the fault of UPS. I returned it and got a new one. I like the look of it but it is light weight and basically plastic but looks nice on my table.

This lamp base is very sturdy and heavy which I love. I love the traditional style with a little updated look. I bought Target's Toile lamp shade to go with it. They look gorgeous together.
