Life Size and Reacts to Human Touch Realistically. My dogs , toddler and guests all are tricked very well into thinking this cat I real. It is not super soft has thick coarse hair and a heavy robotic inside so it is not meant for cuddling but you can place it in someone's lap and they can pet it and the weight and automatic response it gives to touch is surprisingly realistic and it will purr just like a real cat. I can see how this might seem like an expensive investment but that is exactly what it is, not a toy. An elderly person in a nursing home or someone in a hospital or rehab setting could gain quiet a bit of relaxation and enjoyment from having this. I would highly recommend it in that case and you can't beat not having to keep up with an actual litter box and changing a couple batteries (surprised that it's not that often) is a lot cheaper than food, vet trips, etc..

To you and I it may seem silly. But my mother does not hear or recognize the the mechanical movements or sounds. To her- this cat is real and is of great comfort to her. I am glad there is a switch to turn off the meowing (it will still move and purr with the meowing turned off). This has been an absolute godsend for my mother. The only real downside is that these tend to break down after about six months. But getting 2 a year is a very small price to pay for the comfort it gives my mother. Please give this a try if you have a loved one with dementia.

Its sheds so much. The hair is very itchy to the touch.
