Q: Is it safe to have carbonated drinks in this? I want to use the mug for kombucha tea. It's not as carbonated as regular soda, but it still is a 'fizzy' drink.
A: This mug can't used with carbonated, pulpy or perishable beverages to avoid molds and pressure build up inside the product.
submitted byContigo Product Expert - 3 years agoBrand expertA: I use mine with soda all the time. If I've just poured a coke in and I'm not sipping it often I press the button to burp it/release pressure. You can hear it hiss like when you open a can of coke.
submitted byDez - 2 years agoA: My lid popped off, (VERY loudly), while at a driving job. Soda all over and a near heart attack later, I only use it for soda when it's going to be within sight, (NOT hidden away in my lunch bag).

Q: Is 24 oz the weight of the mug with or without liquid?

Q: Is this coffee mug leak proof?
A: It's the only leak proof mug I've ever had. I use mine as a water bottle. The only way anything else in your bag will get wet is if you take a drink and then there are a few drops that stay in the mouth opening - those could be dried with a paper towel or something, though. I love how leak proof it is!

A: No, the lid is top-rack dishwasher safe while you need to hand wash the body.

Q: Why does the stainless steel Contigo have to be hand washed? I understand that the painted ones need to as the paint chips off. But the stainless steel one has no paint.

Q: I just received my Contigo 20 oz auto seal mug yesterday. I hand washed the mug and lid this morning and when I put the lid back together, I noticed there was no seal. Anyone else have this problem?
