Aluminum base with an aluminum framed top, the frame then holds a thick plastic sheet which is then wrapped in the plastic weaved material, it us a very light table would recommend tucking it away or placing weights if there is a wind storm inbound. Haven't had an opportunity to actually use it as we had issues with chairs that were ordered separately. However some of the weaved ends do protrude out and had to be trimmed. The support bracket did not fully align with table frame, so one screw was left out. It is decently sized for 6 but can fit 8 if a few were petite or child sized. There is no hole for a umbrella pole.
