Added weather protected paint to the outside. Put this outside for 2 weeks at the beginning of spring. Added a few inches of dirt and planted some lettuce in it. It is already cracking and coming apart. I cant return it because I already built it, painted it and have lettuce growing. Sadly this box may only last one season. I may try to add some of my own screws to it to help keep it together.

Initially, I purchased two of these planters. The screwdriver tool packed in the box is not strong enough for assembly, so you will need to use a real screwdriver. Also, some of the holes are not pre-punched, but the wood is soft and with a real screwdriver I was able to assemble each box in 15 minutes. I spraypainted with clear waterproof paint, and after drying, lined each box with weed-resistant fabric before filling with planters mix and planting seeds. I liked the first two planters so much that I just ordered two more, and was thrilled to find the second pair at a deep discount.
