Great to do with teens/tweens

I tried to do this craft with friends but after you formed the planter(less than 15 min tops) you have to wait a day. Project over. I LOVED doing it with my daughters though. We had so much fun doing it together. I have a teenage daughter and a tween daughter on the autism spectrum and a kindergarten daughter on the autism spectrum. We roped their dad into our activity and we had a great time doing this as a family. I was smiling the whole time and loving the family time. My 15 year old could do everything herself. But again... after the pots were formed we had to wait at least a day to paint. It's okay but not great to want to put all that effort into finishing a craft later. The pots can't get wet. I'm not really one for fake plants and these look pretty fake and real plants can't go in the pots. And the pots can't be displayed outside which would be a pretty good place for them.

I haven't worked with clay in 25 years, yet I was able to enjoy these planters like a professional, I felt. The kit comes with everything necessary, but leaves room for the free flow of creativity. For example, I decided to experiment with ways to color, or dye, my clay (using ingredients not included with this kit) before molding and sculpting - which was easy bc the air dry clay is white. A few sculpting tools, or even play-dough tools are useful to have on hand.

Fun girls night

We did these recently for a ladies night. It's fun to do clay like when we were kids! I liked that it included all the supplies, although I'll probably replace the silver thread with something a bit more natural. The clay has to dry for 24 hours so I don't actually know how everyone's turned out, but we had fun with the part we did together.

I hosted a miny craft party with some of Crayolas kits. This one was so much fun! My group & I enjoyed being able to actually mold our own pots. The colors of paint included were absolutely perfect for adding touches to the pots. It was overall a very simple fun craft!

Fun Group Project!

We had a lot of fun with this kit at our girls night. With that being said, nobody from the group made it as a hanging planter. The thin silver string in the kit looked nothing like the twine in the photo and that was a little disappointing so everyone just decided to make the planters to set on a shelf somewhere. Also, it would have been nice for there to be more explanation or examples of different types or shapes of planters to try. Overall, we made it fun and ended up with some cute projects.

Fun to Make and Nice Enough To Display

I hosted a mom’s night craft party with these and the ladies loved it. Doesn’t require a ton of skill or artistic vision, so it’s perfect for all levels of crafters. The material is very forgiving so you can really create something you’d want to display in your home. The fact that nice paints and all supplies are included is really nice for when you want to host several people. For the price, it’s a great value. I highly recommend these.

Cute craft project but complicated

The front of this project says “quick craft project” which can be a little deceiving since the pots that you have to make with the clay has to dry for 24 hours. I loved the succulents though-they are super cute. No twine in the package like the cover showed-it was a silver string.
