Q: What do you do when the battery wears out? What is the life of the battery? If not sold seperately - would that mean you have to start over and buy the whole unit again?

submitted by catzmom40 - 19 days ago
  • A: When operated as directed, the battery should have a long life and it is covered under the BISSELL manufacturer warranty. Hope this helps!

Q: Is this considered a multi-surface cleaner? I have laminate floors, tile floors and carpet in my house. Can this be used on all three?

submitted by Kayla - 1 year ago
  • A: Kayla, it can be used on sealed hard floors and area rugs, but shouldn't be used on wall-to-wall carpet as it isn't a dry vacuum and won't work like a deep cleaner on carpet.

Q: can this be used on area rugs as well as hardwood floors ?

submitted by Patty - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi Patty. The CrossWave will vacuum and freshen area rugs. It won't deep clean rugs like a carpet cleaner.

REALLY Clean Floors!

Let me start by stating that I am a true clean freak. I thought my floors were clean enough to eat if of until I purchased the Crosswave. The dirt that came off of my hardwood floors both shocked and disgusted me. This is the best purchase I have made in a very long time!

Can you make one for counters? I tried the carpet mini for this purpose but it needs a different attachment for it to work well.

Ifs a fancy mop. Not a vaccuum

The product name is deceiving. It’s definitely not a vacuum. This is a mop that can vacuum on hard surfaces only. If you need a nice fancy mop, this works pretty good. But a vacuum? No

I loved this the first couple times I used it and didn’t mind the deep clean after every use. However, now that it has been a few months, it doesn’t work like it did before. I have one rug I try to use it on, and I do have a few cats, and it leaves wet soggy piles of cat hair behind everywhere. I use a special pet solution from Bissell AND vacuum with a regular vacuum before I use this. It still leaves pet hair behind and I have to go wipe it up with a paper towel. For $200, it really doesn’t clean that well and it certainly isn’t leaving the hardwood floors completely clean either.

Better than Tineco

The Bissell HF3 is amazing!!! I live in a 2 story townhome and I have to say the 25 minute battery life on this must be false. I got 2 bathrooms, a hallway and my family room and kitchen done without having to charge it. I love that I can choose how much solution I'm using which helps me get through my whole house without having to fill up the clean water tank. The dirty water tank is way bigger than my previous Tineco. I also love the slim design on this so I can go under my couch, under my kitchen cabinets and I can get right up on the baseboard. The main thing for me is after I used this on my floors I did the paper towel check and the paper towel was still clean. I have 2 dogs, and my girlfriend that live with me so this was super impressive. It's also lightweight and has the glide feature which means it moves forward and backward with ease! Bissell you guys nailed it with this product! I wish to try the Bissell Crosswave Hydrosteam next but the price of that one is a little much.

I've been using this product for a few months now. First of all I think you need to keep in mind that although it vacuums and mops at the same time it works best as a mop. Therefore, in order to get the best results I usually run my robot vac first to vacuum up as much debris and cat hair (I have 2 long haired cats) as possible. If your floor is extra dirty then temper your expectations with this mop. Overall it works very well, it's very easy to use and I appreciate the cleaning cycle at the end to clean the brush roll. I have a 2900 sq.ft home with ALL tile and I honestly only get to do 1st floor on one charge. (1500 sq.ft). It seems that the more you turn it off and on you drain more battery so my recommendation is if you need to stop to refill clean water you also empty the tank at the same time whether it needs it or not so you don't have to turn it off again just for that. The one drawback it has is the edge cleaning and cleaning grout well. I suspect a steam mop version would do better there so I may eventually purchase that down the road. Can't afford to spend more money on another mop so soon. So long story short, yes I would recommend it but know that for the best experience you have to do some prep cleaning of your floors.

Overrated, not self-cleaning

Way overrated. Suction is subpar and leaves traces of a mess behind. “Self-cleaning”descriptor is a joke. Yes, there’s a self-cleaning cycle, but you still have to take everything apart, rinse, brush, and dry AFTER that cycle. If I could return I would, and everyone else is already trying to sell theirs online since the holiday, probably bc they dislike it too.

Perfect for cleaning my small house. Picked up so much dog hair, my hair, and dirt. Won’t suck up bigger leaves that get tracked in or get the edge of the wall, but what vacuum does? This took my cleaning time and cut it in half. Highly recommend

It stopped working after 3 months because the suction stopped working and would leave the floor soaking wet. I tried troubleshooting 3x with no luck. Customer service at bissel is not great either.

I have 2600 sq ft of tile. Some is covered with area rugs, but still a lot of hard floor. I have previously gone through 3 Hoover Floormates over the last 20 years which I felt did an adequate job, but I was never really happy with it. I bought this after a friend raved about hers. Since it is cordless, it is much lighter and easier to maneuver than my previous Floormates and I think the roller type brush does a much better job than the horizontal brushes on the floormate. However, I don't think either of them do a great job getting to the grout lines. I understand there is only the one roller brush available for this model. I would like one that has some bristles so it can scrub better. I think there could be some improvements in the engineering - primarily the clean water tank. It fills from the bottom and the top is rounded so it cannot be placed on the counter. So, filling with water from the faucet is fine, but trying to take the lid off of a cleaner bottle and pouring with one hand is awkward. Also the instructions are minimal. This has 2 water flow amounts but I can't tell from the icons whether one large water drop or 2 small water drops indicate the higher water amount. I like the self-cleaning feature, but you still have to take it apart and clean it. Comes apart much easier than Floormate and goes back together easily. I like it well enough that I recommended to my neighbor who has purchased her own.

I received a brand new Bissell Crosswave HF3 Cordless Multi-Surface hard floor cleaner as Christmas gift however it came early and I just had to give it a try. It was very easy to assemble out of the box, one click of the handle and it was ready. I put on the charger because it came slightly charged. While it was charging I read the directions which were very simple to understand and I registered it for warranty. I was amazed at how much dirty and pet hair it picked up with my first usage. It was very easy to take apart and clean. I love that how easy with a push of a button the machine cleans self. The only downside I can see is that you have to wait at least 24hrs for the parts to completely dry before you can use again however when I looked onsite at parts & supplies you can purchase extra brushes, extra filters, extra dirty tank assembly and extra squeegee. I will be purchasing these extra parts that way when one is cleaned and drying my CrossWave HF3 is ready to clean up messes.

I had one of the older corded models that I loved. This one barely puts out any fluid and the brush is subpar. Not at all impressed, especially for the price.

This is a heavy machine and the one I purchased plugged up every time I used it, so had to tear it apart and unplug.. Never felt it was picking up any thing had to switch between laminate and rug. But now for a good story, I saw an ad for a Bissell Ram and thought ok once again I would pay over $200 for another machine. But I absolutely love this machine. It is light weight, and cleans so very well. Could not believe how much lint, dirt and trash it picked up the first time I used it. Just to show the other one was not working at all. There is just me a older citizen in my home so you can understand that I do get terribly dirty. No kids, or pets. Huge raves for the Ram. Big negative for the Crosswave. I must not be the only one as I see on Facebook Marketplace these machines for sale for way less than any of us payed for it.

I wanted to hate this thing so much. I have been through about 10 different sweepers since my beloved Hoover Linx cordless was discontinued. But I love the Bissell CrossWave! Here are the pros and cons after just one use: + I got my whole main floor done with this in one charge (about 2000 sq ft). + It sweeps and mops at the same time (lightly sweeps - I'd vaccuumed just 2 days before). + It's lightweight. + The floors shined when done. + Mild, pleasant smell. - It did miss some of one dried-on spill in the kitchen. - Says you have to keep buying their brand cleaning fluid. - Remains to be seen if our hair and pet fur will clog it. I like this one I'm going to buy a second one next paycheck for the basement!

My floors have never looked cleaner. I was also very impressed with the brown water in the collection container. Makes me wonder about all the years where the waters just been left behind on my floors. However the third time I went to use the vacuum it wouldn't turn on. I put it back on the charger thinking I must have forgotten to charge it. When I put it on the battery showed it was 2/3 charged. It still hasn't turned back on after many different chargings. Also the first time I mopped/vacuumed it couldn't make it on all my hardwood floors. About 500 sq ft, if that. I'm going to return and might try the plug-in version. Otherwise I think I might just go back to a good old fashion mop and bucket with a compartment for clean and dirty water. Another note, is that you're supposed to let the brush dry for 24 hours between use. Which is difficult with little kids. But mine wasn't even close to dry after standing on its end for 3 days. It also looked very dirty after one use and I tried to spray it off without any success. So I felt like the second time I used it the dirt I got off the first time was just going back on. Would love something that could be thrown into the washing machine. But not sure if that's possible.

Happy I purchased the CrossWave HF3 Cordless

I needed something to use for routine (whole house and spot) wood floor cleaning. The CrossWave HF3 Cordless seems to fit the bill. It does as advertised. My only comment is i wish the battery lasted 10 minutes more and the supply tank was a bit larger so I could get through the whole house without refilling the tank and recharging as it fell one room short. Knowing this now, I simply plan to split the process up to accommodate the machine's capabilities. Something I am able to live with.

Battery life too short

TessC - 8 months ago
I purchased one from Lowes. Unless the area you are mopping is small the battery does not last long enough. Read the descprition - it says 25 minutes. Sometimes mine only made it 15, that was only half of my kitchen. Then it has to recharge for hours.... Buy a corded version.
