CURLSMITH Effortless Waves Standard Size - Ulta Beauty

My previously straight hair has become more wavy and frizzy in recent years (currently 2A/2B texture) and I'll start off by saying I LOVE the Curlsmith Air Dry cream. I was really eager to add this in, hoping it would finally give my waves the smoothness and definition they're lacking. I followed the instructions and used the product sparingly as others have suggested, over the air dry cream, but the result was exactly the opposite of its claims. It made my hair feel like hay, look more frizzy than before, and ironically, with less definition than when I use the air dry cream alone. Maybe there are other products and hair textures this plays better with, but I don't think it's worth the effort. I returned it.

I have wavy hair and wanted something simple to use. Directions are unclear, but maybe a half dozen additional products are needed? So by itself it basically did nothing but make my scslp itch. Threw it away. Cirlsmith has a good reputation. Maybe they need to make small size starter packs with clear directions for each curl type? Otherwise you are spending and guessing. Easier to just get a supershort layered cut instead.

I've had good luck with other Curlsmith products and tried to make this one work, but it's a no. It smells strong and unpleasant, and somehow makes my fine 2B/2C hair both stringy and insanely frizzy. It's the kind of stringy, almost sticky cast you can't scrunch out. I had to wash it out to get rid of the awful texture. I'm going to have to throw it out because even if I had a friend with my same hair type, I wouldn't wish it on them. I recommend other Curlsmith products but definitely not this spray!

I got the travel soze on a BOGO deal and im getting the full size as soon as im out. I already have wavy hair but this intensifies it and gives me volume. Love!

I use this after applying gel and scrunching my hair. I "micro plop" with a t-shirt towel, apply this and then diffuse. Great results and I LOVE the smell.

I have fine, low porosity, 2B/2C hair that gets weighed down very easily. This spray is super lightweight and gives my hair volume, definition, frizz control, and surprisingly good hold! The scent is too strong in my opinion, but it's not a deal breaker.

I tried this twice and both times it made my hair so sticky! The second time I barely used any at all. I rarely return things but this is definitely going back.

Great for waves. It has no cast or crunch , which I totally prefer. I hate the whole cast thing. I have fine hair and that cast that the wavy girls like drives me nuts. So my hair is soft with this product. I do use the root boost and volume leave in as well. I feel like this product makes my waves nicer than many I've used. I have liked others , but I feel this one is great for waves and frizz is very controlled with this as well. It's a great brand in general.

I have coarse, 3B curls and my 12 year old has fine, 3A hair. This products works for both of us for the more beach waves / curl looks. It's lightweight and is not heavy. I do cocktail it with a gel for my hair, but my daughter does not have to.

I purchased this for my daughter and she loves it! Great day 2. & 3 refresher

So this works geeat for my wavy hair— but the smell is absolutely atrocious! I thought I had a bad batch at first but I was certainly wrong. If they ever make it smell better, Inwill absolutely buy again, but unril then I have to pass.

This is one of the best products I've used! I have wavy & frizzy hair. I don't want to straighten all the time & have been looking for a product for my natural waves. I really LOVE how this made my hair look & feel. Soft & not too crunchy. But the smell is way too strong. It lingered entire day. I am super sensitive to smell. Please make this fragrance-free & I will continue to buy.

I have 2b/c waves and this is my 3rd Curlsmith product. I tried air-dry cream & souffle everyone raves about and my hair dried fluffy! I got this because it says for wavy hair and that's what i have- not to mention i took the quiz on their site! It dried great as far as no hard crunch but i felt a "cast" and no buildup, however i don's see the so-called "frizz control" everyone says it does! I live in a VERY HUMID city- Houston,TX! I have tried so many products , a satin bonnet, satin pillow case and all the same, SMH. I'm officially giving up 👎🏽

I would say buy it once if you're hair is wavy and you need a little help with frizz and a little more attracting smell when walking into a room. It's more of to have in your car in case of an emergency not a daily use. Also for such a small bottle it is expensive.

This has an unpleasant smell and didn't create waves.

I have no idea if this product actually works for my hair because the scent was SO strong and SO unpleasant I got rid of this after one use. I dont know who on earth thought it was a good idea to give a hair product whatever that scent is

My hair is 2 curls and there's a clump for every number in the mix. This was like spraying water on my hair. No hold at all. I'm returning for something with more oomph.

This stuff is amazing. My hair used to be quite curly, and with age and hormonal shifts, my curls have elongated into looser waves. A little of this spray really goes a long way to encourage my spirals to really spring up. Think the effect of a sea salt spray but without that dry feeling. Your hair remains soft and touchable, and moisturized. This has a very slight hold as well. This has become holy grail for me. One of Curlsmith's most standout products.
