D'Addario HS610 Helicore Solo 3/4 Size Double Bass Strings have become an established favorite in the orchestra and are gaining popularity in other areas too. Helicore solo strings offer exceptional bow response and warm, even tonal balance from string-to-string. Solo tuning is used primarily in classical music performance for music written for the double bass as a solo instrument. The tuning (F#-B-E-A) in fourths is a whole tone higher than standard orchestral tuning (E-A-D-G). That's what makes these Solo strings so important. They'll help be able to tune instrument up to the higher range for the music play while avoiding the possible damage 'd get if used standard strings which place additional tension on the instrument.
