Danger in the Wilderness by Darlene L. Turner is a captivating tale. I was quickly drawn into the story, and I wanted to know who PCK (Park Campfire Killer) was. I liked the characters with my favorite being Jayla’s Golden Retriever, Hercules. He is smart, lovable, and cute (and he knows it). I enjoyed the picturesque descriptions of Clovercross National Park in the Yukon. The author really brought the area alive with her pictorial depictions. I loved the suspense, mystery, action, and danger. I had someone pegged as the guilty party (I love solving whodunits) and I could not wait to see if I had correctly identified the bad guy (my mother says that I have read too many mysteries). Blair and Dekker made a great team. I enjoyed the ending. I am looking forward to spending time with the next Hoyt sibling in the second a National Park Protectors novel. Danger in the Wilderness is a suspenseful story with a camping trip, a kidnapped dad, the taunting PCK killer, strong thunderstorms, Hercules with his sniffer, a ticking clock, a vast wilderness, and a helpful hairpin.
On the edge of your seat suspense.

I received this book as an ARC with no expectations of a positive review. WOW! Ms. Turner knocked it out of the park with this book. It is such a suspenseful, roller coaster ride that will keep you wondering what could possibly come next. This ending is one that I did not see coming. This will keep you on the edge of your seat.
If I don't have hope, I have nothing.

‘You both survived this one, but your nine lives are about to run out.’ What an incredible introduction to the Hoyt family! Dekker, a Park Warden, is the oldest of seven and I must say I am looking forward to getting to know the rest. A short camping trip with his father turns into a hunt for the Park Campfire Killer (PCK) but how it ends will leave you guessing. The author immerses the reader in the wilds of a park in the Yukon. You can almost hear the waterfalls and smell the trees. The non-stop action starts with a bang and never lets up — an action packed thriller that poses more questions than answers. Somehow PCK is always one step ahead. Fear abounds and these well developed characters need to comfort that fear and lean on the Lord for help and strength. Can they do that and hopefully stop this killer before he/she kills again? This early copy Of National Park Protectors, 1 was received through Harlequin and BookFunnel. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.
