Q: Is this compatible with the DaVinci Aspen 4-in-1 crib? How does this support a full boxspring and mattress with no supports in between the rails?
submitted by NewMom2021 - 5 years ago
A: The M5789 is the compatible conversion kit for this crib if you are transitioning into a full-size bed. With our bed rails, you will only need the box spring and mattress. You won’t need any type of slats or board for support. There is a lip on the bed rails and the box spring rests on the lip and the box spring is the only support you will need for the mattress.

Fiberglass shards
The packaging had loose fiberglass shards every where. Really disappointing and unnecessary especially since this product is especially for children.

No support! Only side boards. NOT MADE FOR LOLLY
I second the other reviews. This ONLY contains the sides boards and hardware. There is no middle support for the bed! Even a twin the mattress is not supported in the middle. This is also a one size fits all. We converted the Lolly mini crib to a twin and had an extremely hard time doing so. While the hardware and pieces fit, it does so quite awkwardly with spaces and metal pieces showing. Would not recommend.

Useless instructions
The step-by-step instructions that come with this conversion kit are for an entirely different bed which makes them totally useless. I finally found the correct instructions online but not after 20-minutes of frustration and disbelief that the instructions were wrong.

Easy Conversion
The conversion kit itself is really easy and goes together flawlessly. I wish the kit also included bed slats, or option for them, as you have to make a separate purchase to get to a usable frame.

Pointless - you need the slats that go across
The bed is not sturdy once you convert it. Disappointing to spend what we did on this crib and conversion kit only to have to purchase a whole new full bed because you have to buy so many pieces in order to make this functional to use your mattress on.

No mattress support
I rarely leave reviews but I am so bummed. We bought this crib 3 years ago knowing it would turn into a full size bed. Ordered the conversion kit and there’s no mattress slats to hold up the bed. The mattress bows down. When my 7 yo sat on the mattress it fell through to the floor.

Misleading and overpriced
What company has the gull to charge 150 dollars for two pieces of railing and not include bed slats to support the mattress. Also, it’s advertised as a twin/full conversion but there is no way to do a twin mattress without it looking ridiculous. So it’s only a true full sized bed conversion kit with no means to support the full sized mattress.

Poor Instructions, nice bed frame
This was extremely difficult to put together. We purchased the conversion kit for the gelato mini crib because it is listed as compatible. The instructions sent are for an entirely different bed model. We searched online for instructions and could not find any. After a while, we took the entire mini crib apart and had to switch around and rotate each leg. We did figure it out. But this would have taken maybe 20 minutes with proper instructions. It felt like solving a puzzle.

Sizing issue?
When assembled this does not fit your standard full size boxspring or the bunkie board- both are 53†wide. Just today I measured again to see if I was crazy and the width is only 52â€. I have no idea how to make this work? Otherwise the crib and convertible pieces are well made and beautiful!

Overpriced
This bed is compatible with the Charlie 4 in 1 convertible crib. As many have stated, the directions aren’t clear on how to disassemble to bed to obtain the legs for the footboard (separate from the conversion kit). We were able to figure it out eventually, but it took more time than we hoped. You will definitely need a box spring or slats for the full size version. Definitely overpriced.

Would NEVER recommend this product!
Conversion kit doesn’t reach to the footboard! It also didn’t have holes in the boards! Quality control issues for sure. While we loved the crib and thought it was beautiful, it simply does NOT convert to a full size bed no matter how hard you try to make it work. Listen to all the reviews - buy a different crib!

Pay attention to the negatives!!!! BAD BED-buy your own legit bed frame.
I don’t typically write negative reviews….But this time I HAD TO, and I wish I had read and paid attention to the others. I had the crib and loved it…thought we’d love the conversion bed just as much. WRONG. The boxspring/mattress we bought(standard size!) did not fit on the rails-fell right through to the floor. Top of the bed measures 53” and the bottom 54 1/2”. Had to go and buy wood slats and drill nails into the skinny converter pieces to make this work. What a terrible design that doesn’t work. And for the price that it all is…! Outrageous! Not acceptable to have to go and spend more money to salvage this bed.

Converted Davinci Jayden crib to full bed
Worked perfectly to convert our Davinci Jayden crib to a full size bed. We did additionally put 3x8 slats across the frame although I don’t really feel strongly that this was necessary.

Read reviews. Do not use.
Does not fit the bed. We have two different styles of the convertible crib. We tried the conversion kit with the Autumn bed and it didn't fit. There weren't two sets of holes on the footboard to match the rails. The conversion kit is a joke. Waste of money and shouldn't have bought either "convertible" crib.

Easy to assemble if you read the instryctions
We decided to convert our daughter bed to a full size after converting to toddler bed. If you don’t read the instructions before trying to assemble this you’re going to have a bad time. If you follow the instructions it should be fairly easy to put together. It took my husband and I about an hour. We purchased a box spring to place under the mattress and that seems to have worked well. My husband and I have both been able to lay on the end to put our kids to sleep with no issues of weight.
