Design Toscano Flat Back Sea Turtle Statue

I purchased this for a friend. He loves sea turtles and dug a huge pond in his yard and I thought perfect! Well he loves it so much it now has a home indoors on his coffee table. But it is beautiful and well made as always. I have purchased MANY things from Design Toscano and have never been disappointed. Thank you!!!

Item packed very well, I was concerned about shipping damage but none was found (I live 4000 miles from shipping point.) Beautiful example of this species; will be helpful in educating youth about this mammal. Thanks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My turtle is a bit more muted in color than the picture illustrates, but that makes me like him more. He's a terrific addition to a far corner of our new pool deck. Love that he looks like a natural guest who might arrive on our luckiest day!

I have a tropical theme in my backyard and put the turtle next to my fountain. He is a little smaller than I thought, but it looks realistic. I am hoping the sun will not discolor it. I will bring it inside for winter. I also think he is a little over priced, but is good quality.

I have showed the items I have gotten from Toscano and EVERYONE loves them and tells me how realistic they are. I even fooled my husband with the turtle I told him I brought it up from a pond and he believed me !!! My adorable climbing monkey is hanging in my bedroom and is a wonderful conversation piece. He is SO cute and I LOVE monkeys of all kinds. I use to have a real chameleon, and just love this realistic one. He is on my shelf with my other lizards. Everything you make is GREAT !!

It is lighter than I thought it would be. Because of that , it's not worth the price I paid. It looks a heck a lot better in the pool. It float for 3 days and sinks. I take it out to slowly let drain and repeat the cycle.

I am putting this guy by my pool side. I have fine, white sand all around my pool with some pelicans and now this turtle. He completes my sea theme. Realistic looking and very pleased with the quality. Can't wait for summer!

All in all this is a very realistic sea turtle, and I would think twice if I spotted one of these on the beach. The size is good, and texture is well done. The price is reasonable for this kind of item. A couple simple improvements could be made to make a big difference though.... especially the eyes, which are just plain painted semi circles. They look ok from a distance, but clearly close up not so good. I've seen plastic toy turtles with more realistic ones. For some reason the bottoms of these turtles are rather messy, look like they have bird droppings on them... I guess runoff from the paint sprayer don't know. But this is not noticeable at all unless they are turned over. still, recommended I finally just put in some letters for my 'nickname', the stupid application wont accept anything I put in. Oh well.
