Book Synopsis
A collection of 3 irresistibly charming, beautifully illustrated stories about the adventures of Detective Nosegoode and his talking dog, Cody "Uncommonly good [with] distinctive black-and-white drawings. Readers will enjoy the quirky characters and well-constructed mysteries" -- Booklist At first glance, Mr Ambrosius Nosegoode seems to be a perfectly ordinary older gentleman. After retiring, he has moved from the big city to a small town, where he spends his days growing radishes, playing the flute and taking walks with his dog, Cody. But appearances can be deceiving: this unimposing man was once a famous detective, and his dog isn't an ordinary mutt either--he can talk! Join Nosegoode and Cody for 3 classic stand-alone adventures, deemed to be instant classics:- Detective Nosegoode and the Music Box Mystery. When a mysterious man with a fake black beard comes to town and a music box goes missing from the workshop of clockmaker Mr Ignatius Blossom, the two friends begin to investigate...
- Detective Nosegoode and the Kidnappers. Detective Nosegoode wants to enjoy his well-deserved retirement, but it seems the villains of Lower Limewood are determined not to let him rest: Cody has been kidnapped! Will he be returned safe and sound? Never fear, Detective Nosegoode is already on their trail!
- Detective Nosegoode and the Museum Robbery. A famous picture is in danger of being stolen, the headquarters of the Circle of the Aficionados of Checkers has been robbed and an elusive pickpocket strikes at the celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of Lower Limewood. This small town seems to have attracted quite a number of thieves--thank goodness they can count the brilliant Detective Nosegoode and his faithful Cody among their residents!
