  • A: Dial soap of any variety has not contained triclocarban or triclosan for some time. As far as I've seen, the active ingredient in all Dial antibacterial soaps is benzalkonium chloride.

Q: Please explain why Dial says it is certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny but cruelty free" is not listed in the "at a glance" nor does this product show up in a search for "cruelty free bar soap."

Dial has lost it’s scent

Our family has used Dial soap forever! My favorite is the gold bar but something has happened to this wonderful soap. It doesn’t smell like it used to and I’ve stopped buying it and tri tried it again. Thought I got a bad batch but apparently you’ve changed something. The white bar doesn’t even smell the same, what has happened to my Dial soap!!! I won’t buy it again. I’ve actually calls and expressed my disappointment but it’s still the saddest soap, please fix it.

Having a problem, please advise!

I have been using dial soap for many years. When I buy it I unwrap the bars so the soap can cure and never had a problem until now. Several months ago the soap I was curing was actually wet! I keep the bars in a cool dry place in an uncovered container. The bars do not last long at all and they seem smaller than usual. I have been very disappointed and I am considering changing brands!

Not what it used to be!

I stopped using dial products more than 10 years ago and has recently decided to go back to my old roots but after reading several reviews especially the ones who were faithful long time users I decided this is not the soap for me

Truly gold!

In 2026, it seems like everyone has opinions on soap ingredients, and always recommends some all natural soaps that hardly lather or smell strange. “X ingredient is bad for you, Y ingredient dries your skin out, Z ingredient kills good bacteria!” You’ve heard it, too, if you’re reading these reviews. Throw caution aside and use what’s tried and true. I’ve tried a ton of different soaps, from the hand made, natural stuff to big brand names to some Amish guy selling soap on the side of the road. Nothing makes me feel more clean than this Dial Gold soap. It doesn’t dry me out, it leaves me feeling fresh and smelling good. Stop going into a rabbit hole with soaps. Stick with this gold bar. It’s worth it.

Dial Bar Soap

I’ve used dial gold bar soap all of my life. It’s disappointing that the bar gets smaller and the price goes higher, but it’s antibacterial and it seems to work for us.

Bring back the old formula! Dissolves and gets mushy and does not feel good on the skin.

I've been using Gold Dial for many years and the new formula is TERRIBLE. The soap gets mushy after just a few uses and then dissolves quickly. It feels terrible on your skin. Please go back to the old formulation. You stood out before, and now you're just like all of the rest. What brilliant person decided to change a 100+ year successful product??

Horrible new formula

I’m glad to think that I’m not the only one who doesn’t like the new formula. I experienced dry patches on my body and irritation on certain areas. After so many years of using this so disappointed.

Need my Dial Gold back please

I hate this reformulated Dial bar soap. Please bring back the old Dial Gold. I've been using it since I was 14 because of skin itching, almost 60 years. The new Dial Advanced Clean has a most disagreeable odor and is horrible for my skin. I bought a package unknowingly of the changed product and threw it away. You have lost a long time user of all your soaps. I was faithful. Why weren't you?

Bad Formula Change

Whatever the formula change was that happened in the last few months, the new version is a massive step in the wrong direction. I have broken out in Dermatitis rashes in multiple spots due to this new formula, it leaves a very thick white residue on everything the suds touch, and it smells nothing like the old gold bar (the new scent does not smell nice either). Please do something to move back closer to what Gold Dial has been in the past!
