I was excited to get one of the “new” diaper genies for my third child after using the expressions for my first two. What a letdown honestly. It’s cheaply made and holds maybe half of what the other design holds. I am putting size 1 diapers in this one and size 6 diapers in my expression pail and I have to change this one more often! This one is slightly more modern or better looking in my opinion but I would absolutely save your money and get the other design instead

I don't know why people say you don't need a diaper genie. Having one made life so much easier when I had my first baby. Especially when they are at an age with a lot of diaper changes close together. It keeps the room from smelling like the contents of the diaper. What would you do otherwise? I'm pregnant with my second and I immediately put this on my registry as a most wanted item.

We gave away our original and decided to go this route for the new one. What a piece of junk!! Everything has already broken off at least once and the baby is only 8 days old. The odor absorbing pack and the plastic piece that hold it fell into the waste bag within the first 24 hours they are now gone. The little handle on the front to allow the waste bag storage to be accessed even fell of yesterday. The lid, that refuses to close on its own and will only lift and slam into whatever is behind the diaper genie with a decent stomp on the pedal, has even come off. Save yourself the headache and just get the regular one. The odor remover pack does the same thing on that one too, but everything else worked as it should. If you want one for free my trash day is Monday.

Our original genie broke after 2 years, and we’ve now tried replacing it with two different of these new models. Consistent with other reviews, quality is much worse, the top door doesn’t seal all the way so the smell isn’t contained, and seems a lot cheaper.

I’ve been using my diaper genie for about a year now and it is a must have item. I’m really surprised by the negative reviews. Absolutely no odor escapes this thing, except when you open it to put another diaper in. I have a strong sense of smell (which is unfortunate when changing diapers) so containing the stank is the most important thing to me in a diaper pail. I find it very easy to empty once full, and I actually think the liners are super convenient because you just pull it down instead of having to go get a new trash bag every time. The foot pedal to open the lid is nice too when you’ve got a dirty diaper in one hand and baby in the other. Highly recommend.

Not sure why but Diaper Genie changed the latch for the bottom compartment since I last purchased in 2020. It’s much lower quality and is difficult to use which is the last thing you need while trying to empty a trash bag full of dirty diapers! Definitely lower quality than a few years ago and not worth it.

Arrived broken. I have the model that came out previous to this one from 2020 and it’s way better and sturdier. I wanted to get a second one but this newest revision is very cheap. I might have to just go with the Ubi pail… sad they reduced the quality of their product.

Awful design. You have to shove your hand into the opening where you shove the dirty diapers, every time. The other design with the step on mechanism to open the lid makes sense. Much like the other design, it can rip the bags when removing for disposal so it has that going for it.

Stinks. Terribly. I had it in the guest bathroom by my sons rooms because we hardly use that bathroom but when you open the door to put a diaper in you need to hold your nose. Upgrade to the double clamped system it’s worth the 29 additional dollars
