An instant classic!
A wholesome story for young children, beautifully illustrated. I love the Little Golden Books because they don't have any propaganda like the modern children's books.

I love the Little Golden Books. They bring back so many wonderful memories...the illustrations are adorable. Before buying Doctor Dan for my granddaughter who loves band-aids, I did a lot of research and read many reviews. None of the reviews I read mentioned anything about the first 5 pages showing the children with play guns (they were all cowboys)...I think back when this was published in the '50s, any reference to children and guns was not given a second thought. I think it is different these days and for this reason, I didn't feel it was appropriate to give it to my granddaughter. Thank you.
