Dolly Parton's Frozen Chicken & Dumplings Meal - 12oz

U had high hopes for this. Since the Dolly Parton cake mix is yummy. Not only did this not taste good the cellophane kept shredding when I tried to peal it back, stir and recover and nuke for 2 min more.

dumplings are like rubber, chicken not much better. flavorless

Starchy mush, mostly, with a few leathery tough chicken bits and stale vegetable bites.

I was so disappointed with this product. The "dumplings" were hard and about the size of a pea. The "gravy" was extremely watery. All in all, not what I expected whatsoever.

One star was for the packaging. Definitely will not buy again. Taste & texture of ALL the ingredients was subpar to put it mildly!!

Well I expected it to be a good meal but no the chicken was very rubbery and the carrots which there was three were hard the celery also three were like they were still freeze dried and lord help me some one should be slapped the dumplings were like eating rubbery gum the only thing that was good was the sauce it was in i would suggest you use egg noodles replace the dumplings. I expected more quality than what I got with the Dolly name

This is just awful. They were on sale at my local grocery store and I thought I would give it a try. Yuk! The dumplings are gummy and it is just gross.

The chicken was rubbery the dumplings were rubbery and the sauce was too chemical tasting. Disappointment all around. I cant find myself trying any other of the Dolly Parton endorsed foods.

I thought this looked easy and tasty, hugely mistaken, super salty and mushy, keep your money in your pocket, this is gross

I have tried so many recipes and frozen chicken and dumplings but out of all of them Dolly's is the closest to how my grandma use to make it and it just brings me right back to my childhood 🥰 the only thing missing was the peas. I cant wait to try more of Dolly's meals

I love Dolly and always will, but this was a disgrace. I grew up on chicken and dumplings and while I didn’t expect them to taste homemade, I certainly didn’t expect them to taste off and slightly nasty either.

This frozen entree was supposedly developed with Dolly Parton's personal input and approval. I think they must have served her a version different to what I had. The "dumplings" were most un-dumpling-like; they were somewhat rubbery and they had no flavor. The chicken was reasonably plentiful, but some pieces were tender and others were a good deal chewier. The sauce contains what the packaging describes only as "spices," and they give it an odd, sweet taste, not what you expect in a chicken dish. Veggies were decently crispy, but that virtue was not enough to offset the problems with the other ingredients. This was not fun to eat, and I won't be buying it again unless it's reformulated and gets better reviews from others.

Runny juice and no thickness. Are you kidding me those were the worst dumplings I have ever had!!!

Dumplings not so tasty to doughy, chicken ok sauce is ok

I was VERY disappointed with this item. The chicken pieces were tough and had no flavor. Carrots and celery were undercooked. The dumplings were chewy and pasty. I found the sauce to have too much pepper in it. Would not recommend.

This is probably one of the worst frozen meals I’ve had. I was able to finish it, but I’m also not the type to waste food if I can avoid it. The chicken was fine though, spices aren’t bad but I think the “spices” are just using a heavy hand on the black pepper. But what ruined it was the dumplings…which are normally fluffy when you make them yourself and yes, manage your expectations because this is frozen and microwaved but… this was badly executed. This reminded me of a deconstructed chicken pot pie. Except the pie crust is floating around in… sauce? And its texture is a weird combination of both mushy undercooked dough texture while somehow also is tough and overcooked. Kind of how I’d imagine it would be like to chew partially dry Play doh. Not sure how they did that, but I hope they don’t do it again.

This was disgusting, Dolly Parton should be ashamed of herself…

The veggies are so fresh and good. I did not have an issue with the dumplings they were also good, I was just impressed how fresh the veggies were.
