This is what I think prison food probably looks and tastes like lol. I shouldn’t be surprised, I wouldn’t expect much from a frozen meal anyway. Not edible, went to the trash.

I bought this today figured it seemed like a good hearty meal for dinner boyyyy was I wrong, the rest of the reviews are 100% spot on nasty meat, nasty potatoes, hardly any green beans will not get again was wanting to try some other meals but probably not anymore

If there's one thing I know, it's that Dolly Parton doesn't need any frozen meals for extra money? I'm so disappointed that she started doing this. She has a good reputation and everyone seems to like her including myself. However, maybe it's my fault that for some reason when it comes to food and a southern girl, I thought she would have much higher standards before she put her name on something. This entire meal was bad. The country fried steak was tough with bits of cartilage throughout, the potatoes were instant! I actually think she should be a little embarrassed putting her name on instant potatoes being a southern girl, and the bacon in the green beans was raw, chewy, and gross. First and last time buying this.

I tried this last night, baking it in my toaster oven, and it was truly awful. One of the worst frozen meals I've ever had. The meat, the potatoes, the green beans, all had an odd twang to them. Others have said "at least the green beans were good" but that was not my experience. The meat was gross, honestly. Tough as an old boot, and pretty large pieces of hard...gristle? At least I hope it was gristle. The breading was soggy and just absorbs the gravy and the potatoes were dry and odd. The whole thing was a huge disappointment and I ended up throwing it away and eating cereal for dinner. I love me some Dolly Parton but honey, you do NOT want your name on this! It's truly gross.

I'll start positive the grits (shrimp & grits) were delicious & would suggest Dolly making an entree of just the cheesy grits! But this Country Fried Steak was the very worst frozen dinner I ever had, complete garbage couldn't even salvage the green beans they smelled awful & what creamy potatoes???...I also didn't see any homemade gravy. The meat was a disgusting mess I wouldn't even consider eating it...entire thing was immediately trashed! I did but the shrimp & grits 3 times for the grits it was very tasty. I doubt I will try any of the other entree, but again she should do a side dish of the grits.

I bought this to try out since it was on,sale and I can say it was a waste of money. About the only thing decent was the mashed potatoes . I took a couple of bites of the meat and no taste at all and barely any gravy. I won’t be buying her frozen dinners again.

I’m sorry Dolly. This is the worst frozen TV dinner I have ever eaten. I microwaved according to the directions. Dried up green beans and the meat was hard as a rock.

Guess I'm in the minority here. I liked it. The green beans were fine though I added a little butter. The steak was fine, as good as the one I'd eaten in restaurants. Granted not like the ones I can make at home with a real beaten steak but hey guys it's a mass produced frozen dinner, come on give it a break. The seasoning was right on and there was enough gravy to cover both the potatoes and chicken patty. Add a little butter or oil and everything was great. Would definitely have again and recommend!

It wasn’t the worst frozen meal I’ve had in terms of flavor (honestly kind of reminds me of Applebee’s… but to be fair, I don’t have the highest opinion of Applebee’s because their food tastes like it was frozen to me anyway), but the meat was tough like others said. Probably would be better if there were more green beans (seemed like there were two spoons of them). Got it on sale for $3 something but to be honest, it feels a little overpriced.

The beef fritter was rubbery and chewy. The texture was more like a sausage patty. The gravy had absorbed into the breading by the first microwave step and the breading came right off. Followed the instructions and no gravy present. The green beans and potatoes tasted okay. Probably will not try the others. ConAgra hung on me when I tried to call and leave comments.
