Awful Meal
I wanted to come and echo the other reviews about the horrible texture of the “meat”. I took a bite and the beef just didn’t want to chew. Breading was awful, which was really saddening as someone who likes most Conagra brands meals.

Could be improved
This could be a very good meal. The potatoes are well-seasoned and flavorful. The problem is the lack of gravy on the and the mushiness of the breading on the bottom. This could benefit from taking a tip from similar frozen meals and putting the steak on top of the potatoes so both the steak and potatoes get gravy, and put the green beans into their own compartment so they won’t leak water into the steak’s breading. It’s a shame because it’s one of the better tasting frozen meals I’ve had, but the dryness and mushiness is no good. It’s also not much food compared to other frozen meals in its price range, but that’s expected because it has a celebrity’s face on it.

Horrible meal!
This meal was horrible! The meat had slivers of bone in it and the breading fell off. The green beans were hard. The mashed potatoes were the only saving grace but the gravy was like glue! I can't believe that Dolly Parton actually allows her name to be associated with this dinner!

Hot Garbage.
I can make shoes out of this chicken fried steak, it's so tough. When you put it in the microwave, the breading turns to mush and/or comes completely off the steak. And the green beans....might as well chew on plastic. Sorry to say, this product is garbage.

Needs Improvement
For a frozen meal the steak could be A LOT better. The breading falls off and is mushy. The meat itself is tough on some parts. I've bought it several times hoping it gets better but it lacks overall taste in the steak. There's zero gravy. The mashed potatoes are good just wish they had gravy. I will say the green beans are tasty. I've never cared to eat them but these are good. I rate it a 2.5

Please Improve
I've had several of the Country Fried Steak meals and while I find them tasty and reasonable for the price like everyone else the steak is the least favorite part. Flavored decent but meat need to be more tender.

suggestion for packaging
Was there any country gravy? I think if you put the green beans in a separate compartment, rather than the potatoes, maybe I could have found the gravy. The meat and beans were chewy. Although it was edible, it wasn't good.

Just terrible!
I’ve never had a chicken fried steak from a frozen meal that was this bad. I needed a steak knife to cut it. Every other one I’ve been able to cut with a fork.

She may be a songbird, but she ain't a cook
I picked up the County Fried Steak thinking this would be a nice difference to my normal Lean Cuisine lunch. However, I was sorely disappointed in the quality of the meet and presentation of the meal overall. Whoever Dolly has approved to make these and use her name should be fired. The quality of the food is terrible, the portions slim, and cooking times seem to be nowhere near accurate.

Had hopes, but they were dashed
During the late 1960s, my middle school cafeteria served "Chuck Wagon Steak" which, as I discovered later, was another name for Country (or Chicken) Fried Steak. I've had Country Fried Steak many times, in many restaurants, including a roadhouse in Austin Texas. Even several times at IHOP. But this one made me wonder whether Ms. Parton had ever experienced it before lending her name to it. I found this to be satisfying only in that it was filling. Otherwise, it was pretty much lacking in flavor. I thought I'd finally found a good frozen Country Fried Steak meal again, but I am disappointed, and will not be buying this again.

Don't get this one!
I saw someone else grab the Country Fried Steak meal so I thought I'd give it a try as well. Huge disappointment! All the breading came off when I rotated it as directed. Mashed potatoes were lost with the gravy and breading. The meat was tough. The green beans were good but a little overdone by the time the steak was hot.

Sorry product
Bought two of these and they were a complete waste of money. I thought the cooking time seemed so long, so used "9" instead of "10" and shortened the cooking time by a minute. They came out hard and tough and the breading was like shoe leather. The steak was very tough. The gravy and mashed potatoes were a globby unidentifiable mess.
