I hope they never change this formula or discontinue. If I could give this body wash sixty stars, I would. Excellent, top shelf product. I have had extremely, extremely oily and acne prone skin since teenage years, and nothing has ever worked like this. One shower with this on an exfoliating wash cloth, every trace of excess oil is gone, the KP on my arms has been visibly reduced by at least 20% and my skin has never felt softer in my entire life. Just enough of a fragrance to be refreshing but not enough to irritate as my skin is slightly sensitive as well. I feel like a brand new person & cannot overstate it enough, this salicylic acid body wash is truly a miracle product.

Horrible scent!!!
I got this to use on my back, I'm not sure if it has been very effective but the scent is horrible. Like other dove products I have tried, it has a very strong scent. The scent smells masculine to me and it is not appealing at all as someone who typically doesn't mind more masculine smelling or gender neutral scents.

i don’t usually write reviews for products but this body wash is the best for stubborn back acne!!! i just finished my first bottle and repurchased a new one because after years of trying new products and still seeing no results this wash has had my skin the clearest it’s been in years. Of course everyone’s skin is different but for the price it’s worth a shot!!!

Great body wash, but turned blood red
I have repurchased this body wash several times since last summer. It’s been my go to body wash but yesterday I took a shower and I noticed my body wash had a pink red tint to it. When I opened it, I was horrified to see what looked like blood in the pump. The scent had turned a little sour too. I have never had this happened with this body wash before. Usually I purchase it much sooner but I have been using less and going back and forth between another body wash. Not sure if it went bad/expired because I didn’t finish it sooner. It’s a great acne body wash but I was little horrified when it turned blood red.

Body wash liquid turned blood red! Be warned!
I’ve been purchasing the Dove acne body wash ever since they first released the product. I’ve had some mild body acne and the wash has always helped calm my skin plus it has a nice soft smell and is also moisturizing. All that said, this is the first time I’ve EVER had this happen! I bought 2 bottles from Target on January 26, 2025. I opened one of the brand new bottles sometime in early February after the one I was using at that time ran out. It’s only been about a month of use and tonight I noticed some red “stuff” coming out of the bottle top. I opened the cap and the pump tube is dark red, it almost looks like blood! I’ve never seen this before! I did a quick Google search and the AI answer says it possibly spoiled and should be thrown away immediately. I’m writing this review to share my experience with anyone who might encounter this or has experienced this and I can validate your claim. I’ve included photos of both the “spoiled” bottle and my other UNOPENED bottle that I bought the same day. I’m giving this review 3 stars because I still want to like the product, but now I’m a bit uneasy about it..

I didn't see much of a difference. I have been using this body wash since December. I use it with a silicon body scrubber. It does lather nicely, and the scent is okay. As for the acne on my body, it didn't get worse or better.

Its Okay
The packaging is great. I didn’t find it to make a significant difference in my body acne unfortunately. I bought this because I had been using the Naturium wash but I wanted something with a stronger percentage of salicylic acid because I thought it would be more effective. I found this one to be less effective than the Naturium. I also find the smell very off putting. I was hoping it would be the classic Dove Cucumber scent but it smells very chemically. I’m using it up because it’s better than nothing but I won’t be repurchasing.

This definitely helps with acne prone skin. I wish it was a little stronger but I like the amount you get for the price. It also doesn't seem to dry out my skin so that is a plus. The scent isn't too strong either which I appreciate. I buy this item regularly.
