Q: Do they repel against pet hair??

  • A: Hi there! Great question. Our Downy Infusions Calm Vanilla & Lavender Dryer Sheets are designed to help eliminate static within the dryer and on your clothes. When you prevent static, it helps in removal of pet hair compared to not using any static reducing laundry product. You should see a difference in lesser hair out of the dryer, as well as easier removal or ‘brush off’ while wearing, but it isn't a product that will fully repel the hair. The Downy Dryer Sheets are not a miracle worker, however it can make a big difference for some people because of this. However, the sheets are not suggested to be used on pet bedding/blankets as some pets can have sensitive skin and the sheets may cause skin irritation. We suggest asking vet what they suggest for keeping pets beds fresh and clean. Please contact us at (800) 688-7638 for any further questions. Your satisfaction is highly important for us at Downy.

    WHAT CHANGED?!

    I don't know if the formula for the Downy Infusions Calm Lavender Vanilla Bean Dryer Sheets have changed but I have been using them since they came out and the last few times I have purchased them they seen to have this mildewy/musty like smell to them, very disappointing 😞. I also use the same scent in liquid fabric softener as well as the beads and they do not have the musty smell.

    Favorite scent

    Downey calm is my favorite scent of those I’ve tried. It leaves a nice fresh scent that is not overpowering. Only one sheet is needed even for large loads and eliminates static. I use Downey calm in my laundry loads (the males get cool cotton), towels and bedding. I stock up when it’s on a Target Circle deal.

    Awesome dryer sheets!

    This is my all time favorite dryer sheet. The scent of it is amazing! They aren’t heavy and the packaging is so cute not an eye sore. Very good for the value of your money.

    THE SOFTNESS

    I try to go with unscented (chemical reduction) but I was having trouble sleeping recently and bought this to put in my pillowcase hoping the lavender would help lull me to sleep. Unfortunately, the scent just isn’t potent enough and I can hardly smell it. I didn’t want to waste this so I started using when drying my laundry and I immediately noticed the extra softness in my clothes and linens. For that reason alone I would repurchase, again the scent just doesn’t hold well enough unless I use multiple sheets which helps a little, but seems wasteful. I wish they would make a truly unscented (non-chemical) version of this with the 3x softening ingredients. That would be game-changer

    These are the best smelling dryer sheets! I have sensitive nose and don’t like the over chemical smell. These are the perfect balance of vanilla and lavender. Have used them for years.
