A: Danni, Thank you for contacting Dramamine! The All Day Less Drowsy tablets are indicated for treating motion sickness, not vertigo. Please follow up with your doctor on what to take to for vertigo.

According to the Mayo Clinic: "Meclizine is used to prevent and control nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness. It is also used for vertigo (dizziness or lightheadedness) caused by ear problems." Every time I have seen a doctor for vertigo they have prescribed meclizine. If you are still unsure, check with a doctor, nurse practitioner, or pharmacist. If your vertigo is caused by a bacterial or viral infection, your healthcare professional may order additional treatments like antibiotics for a bacterial infection or a referral to an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) doctor or audiologist. For some cases of vertigo you can try the Epley maneuver.

Q: Is it safe for first trimester nausea and vomitting? I was diagnosed with severe HG and can’t even keep water down! I’m hoping this is better than Unisom which makes me extremely tired.

Still made us drowsy
My husband and I each took one dose before a trip to an amusement park. I typically get very nauseous and this helped me immensely. However, even though this is considered less drowsy, it whooped our butts. About two hours after taking it, we both felt like we needed to lie down for a nap!!!

I still got sick on a cruise after taking this before boarding and before bed. Could have been the food, or maybe I just hate large ships. Not sure, but it sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t.

These knocked me out
I went to a them park and got home around 9 pm and was really nausea so I took one thinking I should be fine. I thought if it did make me sleepy I would just go to bed. Well it made me so sleepy and groggy for almost 24 hours. I kept taking naps in the car while running errands with my family. I would not take this again:

It works but beware of sleep!
These pills work really well, and the claim of lasting 24 hours is accurate BUT beware, they still knock you out! I can’t imagine what the regular version is like if the “less drowsy” was this bad. I was out for about 15 hours and felt groggy for around 20!

I just recently got diagnosed with vertigo at 35 years. Prescribed medications were making me feel worse. So my Dr told me to try over the counter meds. "Less drowsy" ≠ non-drowsy
I get pretty severe migraines that make me nauseous/vomit. I was recommended and take regular dramamine for it, but it knocks me out every time and that doesn't work when I'm at work. I decided to try the less drowsy, hoping that I could take it & still be functional...did not go as planned. I took the pill around noon and the nausea was gone in ~45 min. But I had to go home at 3 because I could barely keep my head up, then slept for 12 hours and still woke up groggy.

Worked For Me
I had a horrible plane ride experience where I got sick and was told that it could potentially be motion sickness. A family member suggested that I try Dramamine. I’ve used it twice since and did not have motion sickness on both flights. Hoping this continues to help.

Miracle pills for 1st trimester
My 6th week of pregnancy I’ve been very sick as well as my 7th so I decided I need something stronger than ginger tea which I dispose and bananas so I got this stuff and i don’t know what I’d do with out it I’d be in misery. It BARELY makes me drowsy it’s only really if I’m laying in bed then I’ll get a little sleepy but it’s fightable. I feel little to no nausea when before I was constantly on the verge of throwing up. Going on an 8 hour road trip there and back this weekend so I’m hoping I’ll make and the only way I could is Dramamine so I hope it works so far it’s been a blessing

Works but still drowsy
I get extremely car sick when I’m in the car for more than 30 minutes so I bought these to drive to visit some family a couple of hours away from me and it definitely helped reduce nausea, upset stomach, and dizziness BUT the drowsiness persisted the entire day and I felt really out of it. No amount of caffeine helped me get out of this sleepy state.
