Q: It just stops and won’t go again until I take the batteries out of the remote (new) and just put them back in. Then it will work for a while. It is very inconvenient to get a screw driver out every time he wants to play. Is a common problem?

A: Hello Me, Please change the switch under the truck to the ON/Play mode, as well as change the batteries to all new Durocell alkaline batteries. Please note that battery voltage is not the same depending on the brand and this can affect the functionality of the toy. Next, set the truck to “try me”, remove the batteries from the remote then place them back in. This will reset the controller. You will see the lights on the remote blink. You can now set the truck back to on. You will see the remote light stay on and it should work. Then please press down on the roof of the truck to establish and RC connection. Thank you. A: Hi there! We’re sorry to hear that! We really want your little one to enjoy playing with our Driven Micro Remote Control Dump Truck! Are you aware that there is a switch on the bottom of the toy vehicle that needs to be in the “ON” position for the remote control feature to engage? There are 3 different settings : “Off”, “On” and “Try Me”. If it is set to “Try Me”, the lights and sounds will work, but the remote will not pair with the vehicle. If that doesn’t resolve your issue, then we suggest you try to replace both sets of batteries (in the remote and in the truck). If neither of these suggestions resolve the issue, we suspect you received a defective product. We strongly suggest that you go back to Target for an exchange. (Target makes it easy!) If you would like us to follow up with you, please go to the Battat website and fill out our customer service form. We always try to make sure that all of our customers are completely satisfied! The 3 year old is able to use it along with the bigger kids which has been wonderful. It is battery operated, but they last for a while. Their favorite part is the button that makes a honking noise. It has proven to be very durable with even rough play. Recommended for a fun time for kids.

The only concern is when the dump truck bed opens, there is a small area where my son’s finger was pinched when it closed. So be careful.

My son is 6 years old and thought this was a cute little truck. He puts rocks behind the truck and pretend plays with it. It’s plastic so I don’t expect it to work for too long. It doesn’t go super fast like a race RC car would but it looks so cute driving it around the house. I recommend if you play with it outdoors keep it on cement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This DRIVEN remote-controlled dump truck is simply just good, without being ground-breaking or a “must-have”. Readily available at Target for $16.99+tax, this one is right in line, price-wise, as many of its competitors. My son loved the colors, we can start there. I appreciated the heft that the dump truck had that aided in stability when driving. Also, the truck itself came with 3 AAA batteries, so I only needed to supply 2 more AAA batteries for the (unfortunately cheaply made/light) remote, so that was nice. I was pleasantly surprised at the speed of the truck, certainly expecting something less zippy (video included). The controls are the annoying left stick forward/backwards and right stick left/right that can take a child a while to get the hang of. I wouldn’t think that anyone under 5 would either the dexterity or the patience to truly grasp this. Most parents probably appreciate this, but I found the horn disappointingly quiet, although engaging from the remote is a nice feature. The dumping bed and doors are manually engaged, and the doors shut themselves. This is a perfect gift-giving dump truck toy; doesn’t break the bank, and is nice enough without blowing anyone away. My son is already kind of bored of it, but it will remain in rotation.

Overall it seems to be built ok not amazing but it did provide hours of fun. You do need to put batteries in which kinda sucks honestly when they come with rechargeable batteries it is so much better. The kids will be using all my batteries now just to keep it running.

The toy is made to look like a real dump truck and my son loves the sounds and how it actually lights up. This toy is very much worth the money that any child will enjoy.

As lots of other reviews said, the truck and remote lose connection constantly and it’s very annoying. Just pressing the “reset” button does not work. What a piece of junk!!

I like this more than monster trucks because it can haul around stuff and so it gets more play time than other RCs we have.
