Review is for the XL Patio Door Door Insulation Kit. I never bought a product like this before. Installation was ok by myself, the tape sometimes was peeled back too much so it was not sticky- just don't pull all layers- make sure there is a sticky side up on the trim, once you think you peeled the paper away. I took alot of time with hair dryer smoothing out wrinkles, as directions stated and it worked really well, could not believe how the film looked like glass! All the air leaks disappeared. Great product.

I received the wrong items. The target employees who was working at the pick -up counter was excellent but whomever picked the items, picked a substitute and i was not notified.

I bought these kits to put up inside and outside of my window AC units. I did it alone, but would be easier it 2 people worked in it. I'm very pleased with the product. Will buy again. I bought at a big retail store.

Like others, I've used these kits in the past with much better luck. This brand does not shrink. Buy 3M instead! I was actually looking for the 3M kit and this brand was the only one available at my Target. Thought I'd try it. Assumed it would be equal quality. You know weekday happens when people assume!

I have been using this product for years. I love it. Last year I moved and did my windows, this time it did not work very good. I have had to do my living room 6 times and I need to do it again. The plastic comes loose from the tape every few weeks. First I thought the tape was coming off the windows, but actually the plastic is coming loose from the tape. I do not understand why that keeps happening. I guess I need to find another brand.

Adhesive Strips WONT stick to window seal

We have 10 windows that we wanted to seal for the winter months. Each window seal was cleaned with an alcohol wiped and let dry properly. Still these duct tape brand adhesive strips would not stick. I tried heating them with the hair dryer to get them to stick and still they stick for a few moments and curl off. If the adhesive strips weren’t faulty this would be a good product. Possibly a bad roll of adhesive, but all and all a waste of money.

it’s useless. The double sided tape that comes with the kit will not stay stick to the plastic sheet. I seems like when it gets cold it just unsticks, defeating the entire purpose of the kit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This does the trick in a pinch. We are using it in the basement as it isn’t the prettiest solution but it is trapping out the cold winter air so the heat bill isn’t quite as high. Great and affordable solution. Thank you.

I just bought the Max Window Kit. My first impression is not that good. It just isn't as clear has others I have used. Yes it is much thicker and time will tell how good it works. However, even after installation I've noticed a milky film and it hasn't shrunk as tight without wrinkles.

Hi there - we are sorry to hear that you had this issue. When the film behaves in this manner, it usually is due to aging and improper warehousing. Age and temperature extremes can cause the film to deteriorate and break down into its component parts and become oily/milky. Please reach out to us directly for further assistance.

This is by far the best window and door plastic that I've used. In Michigan, it gets very cold and windy during the winter months, by applying this roll of clear plastic to a few drafty windows and a sliding glass door, I believe that my home felt a lot warmer because of it. It's a lot thicker than the usual Frost King brand that I've normally used. It's not crystal clear, but good enough to allow in a lot of sunlight. I liked that this came into a roll, not a folded up plastic sheet. The tape that was included worked well, especially after I'd wiped down the window and door frame with a bit of rubbing alcohol beforehand. The plastic stayed in place all season.

We have two large 4x6 windows in the lower living area of our home which are very drafty. Since the 3M brand had such bad reviews this year because of bad tape we decided to try Duck Max. The kit is very easy to install, the tape is great but the plastic is not crystal clear. As others have mentioned there is a hazy film on it. Some of it will wipe off but that was a pain. The folds do not disappear when heat is applied but that's to be expected because the plastic is a heavier mil. That being said, our windows are covered by sheer curtains so it really isn't an issue for us but may be for other consumers. I feel confident that the Duck insulating kit is going to save us money on our energy costs by eliminating the cold drafts coming through.

The Duck brand is much better than 3M or Frost King. While those are good products, Duck is superior in quality. The tape is easier to deal with too.

    Yucky, Hazy Film

I was excited to see a product that was thicker than Frost King brand. I searched high and low to find 2 of the 62" x 126" kits, for my giant, single pane windows. After installing the film over the first window, I noticed a terrible haze, that looked like very dirty windows. Upon closer inspection, I could see where I touched the film when hanging it. Everywhere I had touched it, has rubbed off this hazy film. I wiped off the outer side of the film with a damp rag and and dried it. A little bit of the haze was removed, but there is no way to clean the other side, now that it has been installed. There are also permanent lines where the plastic was folded and rolled. The hair dryer will not remove these. VERY DISAPPOINTED! This product is not crystal clear, as advertised. I've attached 2 photos. One window has the hazy film on it, and the other window has none.
