Q: is this good for cigarette and vape smoke?

submitted by jake - 3 months ago
  • A: Hello Jake, this is Kelly with Dyson. TP7A Autoreact has a 360° filtration system. You'll be happy to know that during testing, cigarette smoke was specifically tested to help determine filter life, whole room purification, and smoke test. From these results 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns are removed from the air. We hope this helps. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Q: does it actually cool a room like an air conditioner

Q: does this fan's hepa filter need to be replaced periodically or just cleaned?

submitted by Julia - 9 months ago
  • A: Hello Julia, this is Kelly with Dyson. The filter in your TP7A is designed to last about 4400 hours. If you were to run your machine 12 hours every single day, the filter would last roughly one year. The filters are not washable, and should be replaced when your machine alerts you that it's time. Purchased this recently for my daughter’s room. She has non-allergic rhinitis (not “allergic” to allergens, but is sensitive to them & still gets all the allergy symptoms). This helps keep her room cool & has seemed to help with her nighttime cough. Love that it was on sale! Love the little info screen that shows particle levels. Plan on purchasing another for the main part of my home.

Good Filtering fan

I like this air filtering fan. It comes in a box that shows what is inside, which is risky taking into consisideration the amount of money it costs. So far so good after a month or so of use. It shows the air quality constantly and it adjusts automatically with it. It is not loud, and it has a sleep setting. I would recommend it if there is a good sale.

I've used this in a apartment to move the air and purify it. When you aren't able to open the windows, it helps to clear the air and make the inside environment much healthier.

How can this not be able to connect to the app? I guess this is a budget friendly option. Otherwise of course it’s a great machine. I just wish I knew that before I opened the box.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry that you've found the lack of WIFI for your Dyson Purifier Cool Autoreact™ TP7A to be a disappointment. We can confirm that this particular model does not have onboard WIFI, but will perform in the same manner as our devices that are connected. The outer box packaging should have had this information readily available. We do also offer a 30-day return period on any purchase made direct. If you'd like to explore that option, feel free to get in touch with us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com. Kind wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

We have two Dyson air Purifiers in our home. We have numerous other types of Dyson products, and there is no question that we think they are top notch. My wife loves the air purifier because it is multi-speed and rotates with easy to clean and replace filters, when necessary. Our first Dyson Purifier we bought several years ago and, other than replacing the filter, we have never had a problem with it, and do not expect the problem with the new Dyson. We commend their products to you as state of the art, and exactly as advertised.

I have numerous pets (dogs and parrots) and I needed something to help with the pet dander and dust. I bought 2 other air filters that were noisy and didn't do the job. This one is silent. I am considering buying another one for my room.

I bought this around thanksgiving. It does OK I guess. My biggest complaint is that I cannot connect it to Wi-Fi, thus I cannot connect it to the app.

Great purifier/fan amazing upgrade!

I had the black Dyson tower fan, strictly fan. I’ve been running that non stop for years, roughly 4. I love that fan so much I decided to upgrade and put that in my son’s room. I chose this model Tp7a because I read the descriptions on products. I personally don’t feel the need to have my fan/purifier tethered to my phone. The remote sits bedside at all times, you can scroll through lcd on unit if needed but honestly if the fan senses anything it takes car of it in its own. I turn it on and that’s it. Also this unit has more features that the link with a single part filter. The directional change at a button press is great. I know I’m not the only person that’ll manually turn their fan then turn it back. This just keeps blowing out the sides. It’s great. I’m extremely impressed with this unit. The air is noticeably fresher in our bedroom with a litter box. People saying it blows softly, it’s because the filter element is very fine. If you remove the filters it blows like crazy. So it’s obviously not an underpowered fan. The only thing I wish Dyson would make an option. Make a cheaper, less restrictive filter. So people that want a stronger fan that still removes most dust particles can have the best of both worlds. I’ve ran the fan with no filters, so I know the sensors and unit will operate this way. I’m very happy with this upgrade but I’d really like more filter options. At least one higher flow option.

Love Dyson products and this air purifier/fan doesn’t disappoint so far. It has several speeds of air flow and you can redirect it away if you just want the purifier. It also has a sleep timer but we love the fan noise while we sleep. It has a small footprint, unlike a regular pedestal fan.
