Eat Meati Frozen Carne Asada Steak - 8.8oz

My FAVORITE steak alternative. And typically cheaper price than “other” grocery retailers!

I was shocked how good this turned out, and how much it taste like actual real steak! I will say that I am not a vegan nor a vegetarian, but I try to be intentional about it and not eat meat everyday. So I'm always looking for good vegetarian swaps that I can integrate into my diet. Usually when I buy vegan things I'm expecting it to not really taste like the original, but I feel like they really nailed it. Honestly I think if you just cooked this and served it and told someone it was a steak I think it's a 50/50 chance whether the person eating it would actually identify that it wasn't real meat or not. I defrosted mine a bit in the microwave first, one minute on each side, so it wasn't fully frozen. And then I just grilled it in a pan with some avocado oil. Turned out great, served it with some corn and some french fries. I look forward to trying the classic variety next, cuz I would prefer to provide my own seasoning. Attached photo shows what a chunk of it looks like, looks an awful lot like meat!

Smelled rancid after cooking and slicing into it. The smell was Soo bad I couldn't bring myself to taste it. I almost vomited from the smell alone.

We LOVED these- I followed the cooking directions and sautéed in a skillet with garlic salt, butter, vegetable better than bouillon and a dash of Worcestershire.It tasted great like this, but I used it by cutting it into small pieces and adding it into vegetable soup. It was perfect and a day later even better as it absorbed the broth. I’m already craving it again. Approved by the vegetarian and the meat eater in our family.

My partner and I have been VIOLENTLY ILL after trying this. Both got sick at the same time right after eating this. Please BEWARE! This brand is far too expensive to be getting people SO SICK!

Tender, juicy, savory, and perfectly seasoned. Makes for really good vegetarian fajitas! Absolutely yummy!!

Doesn't quite taste like carne asada, but these are a great steak substitute for most recipes. Very nutritious and easy to cook. Texture is very meat-ish, and is slightly on the pulpy side, but I like it a lot. Appropriate for those who have texture issues with real steak. Great for bringing to BBQs that may not have a vegetarian or vegan option available.

Loved it. Cooked it from frozen and it turned out great. As someone who is sometimes sensitive to food textures, I didn’t mind this texture at all. Not overly chewy but not mushy either. Would recommend, even if you eat meat!

Even in birria taco form it wasn’t enough to mask how disgusting this tasted. It’s like dirt flavor

Absolutely loved these! Recently went vegetarian and have been craving steak for my burrito bowls and tofu just doesn't cut it for me, and these were AMAZING!! I was genuinely shocked at how good these were, my boyfriend who doesn't like mushrooms was raaaving about them, too! Definitely recommend!

Easy to cook, wonderful flavor, and a texture that actually had me thinking I was eating a delicious meat steak. I don’t know how they did this with just mushroom root but it’s truly incredible. These people are pushing the boundaries of what can be done with plants, thank you so much! Bonus: It feels good to be eating a sustainably grown food that doesn’t involve needless pain and cruelty to animals.

This is by far the best meat alternative I’ve ever had, especially for beef. The texture is awesome and it tastes so savory. It couldn’t be easier to cook and it was seasoned perfectly. We’ll buy these regularly instead of beef, the cost is great too.

I made tacos with it tonight and they tasted great. The tacos were fully loaded with rice, guac, salsa etc. and this was a nice addition. The amount of protein and fiber is pretty awesome too!
