I’ve used the Sensi and Nest Learning (3rd Gen) thermostats before, but the Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential is by far the easiest to operate—both through the app and the on-screen touch controls. It was also super easy to integrate with HomeKit. Simple, reliable, and user-friendly!

I changed over from another popular thermostat brand that is sold by a major internet search engine company. I upgraded because I do not like the idea of said company tracking me everywhere I go and monitoring everything I do. Ecobee was simpler to set up and is easier to operate, but has the same functionality as my previous smart thermostat. Recommend for first time smart thermostat buyers and also anyone who does not want to give up 100% of their personal information to a large search engine company.

It was very easy to install very easy to set up and their is a app to download and we don't ever have to mess with heat or air again it does it all on its own to our set up and we are able to use our phone or Alexa to adjust heat or air if needed without getting up or being home. I have already purchased another for inlaws. Absolutely would recommend.

It took several days of playing around with the software to get the thermostat to perform the way I wanted it to. The website is not that helpful, but it will get you through the basics. If you're not inclined to dealing with many software menus, nor fully understand your HVAC system, you may want to avoid this thermostat.

I was 10 minutes away, the a/c was off, I had just finished a bunch of shopping, and it was hot and humid. I got on my smartphone, used the Ecobee app, turned on the a/c to 70 degrees, and when I arrived home, it was LUSH indoors—I love the thermostat!

Setup was quick and easy thanks to the detailed app instructions! It looks clean on the wall, the touchscreen is intuitive (if a bit slow), and the smart features like scheduling and eco+ adjustments are genuinely helpful. I’ve already noticed some energy savings, and it works flawlessly with Alexa and HomeKit! I absolutely love it and can’t recommend it enough!!

I love how I can set a schedule for when I’m home, away, or asleep. It automatically adjusts to save energy and keep things comfortable. The touchscreen is sleek and easy to use, but I mostly control it through the ecobee app on my phone. It also works great with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit, so I can make changes with my voice. Plus, the energy reports are a nice bonus. I can actually track my usage and see how I’m doing compared to others. The setup was simple. I love it!

The instructions were clear, and I had it up and running in like 20 minutes, maybe less. The app is super intuitive, too. I can tweak the temp from my phone before I get home so the temp is where we want it. Feels like it’s actually saving me money on energy without me having to overthink it. All in all, if you're looking for a smart thermostat that just works without being complicated, the Ecobee Essential’s a solid pick.

Set up took maybe 10-15 minutes to install on the wall and get set up to access on my phone. I love that I can check on my house temperature AND change it via the Ecobee app when I’m not at home. I actually find this more user friendly than the Nest. I replaced our Nest with this Ecobee and will be changing out our thermostat as well. We have it set up to sense when we’re not home, so the temperature can increased/decreased to become more energy efficient.

Starting the account, it offers you clear and easy instructions for set up/installation. I especially appreciated the emphasis on trying to keep things not overwhelming by allowing for you to take things step by step. Overall I feel the thermostat has been efficient and easy to use. Having access to change the temperature while I’m out of the house is great! I would recommend this thermostat to anyone looking to upgrade! I loved the mounting piece to effectively cover any previous installations.

I love that it's compatible with Google Assistant and has a full color touch screen. It's energy efficient because it learns your heating patterns and can tell by location sharing when you're not at home. You can control the temperature even when you're away on vacation, it's super handy. I always turn my smart thermostat on from my phone when I'm almost home and it's cold winter weather so the house is warm when I arrive.

The Wi-Fi and adjustment control integrate well with my carrier. Simple to use, and the wall plate comes in the box. It will save us much money during the summer time. Highly recommend it!
