ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential

Easy setup and install. Easy to use, works great. Choices were Honeywell, Nest, Wyze, Amazon unit.

I worked in the HVAC industrie for 28 years and i've seen owned and tested numerous thermostats. This Ecobee has been on my wall for over 8 years and i never had any issues with it. This to me is a marvel of technologie and so far has no match on the market. Even my hydro bill went down year after year since i installed it. One thing i admit, it is a little complicated to set and understand especialy the scheduling part but with time and patience, you will master this device like a pro. Note that it rarely happens but it could freeze or have a strange behavior, just take it off it's wall support for 10 seconds put it back and it should come back to normal. Overall, this is one great device that can even play music or talk we you. What else could you want.

Very happy with the product. I am able to control the system remotely from my phone. Installation was straightforward even with having to install the power extender.

Received and installed the Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential 3 weeks ago. Easy to install, setup, and program. I did need to also purchase an Ecobee trim plate as the new thermostat was smaller than the Honeywell thermostat it replaced. That worked perfectly. So far, the Ecobee thermostat is working very well. Much easier to read than my old thermostat. I had to wear reading glasses to read our old one.

I’ve had the product for 4 months. When power goes out temporarily, the unit does not reboot. Removing the thermostat from the backing plate and reinstalling reboots the unit sometimes. Sometimes I have to do this multiple times before the unit begins to reboot.

Been using the ecobee premium and economy for about a month now. They seem to be very reliable and easy to use. The set up was quick and easy, although it took a bit to get the right schedule and of course it is still in the learning mode, trying to figure out our habits. Works for a dual zone system without any issues which is great cannot speak to the energy savings at this point in time as we’ve not received a utility bill, but hopefully we will see some. As well using the app to change the temperature or turn on or off the AC/heat is very quick and easy

Ecobee Thermostat is an exceedingly well-thought-out user-friendly thermostat. Self-install was simple: the app guided the self-install and set-up process step by step from removal of the old thermostat, ensuring we had the right wiring and parts, instructions on how to obtain additional parts and work-arounds if we needed them, to wiring, right-sized drill bits, and finally wifi-connection. The app itself is intuitive and simple while accomplishing everything it needs to to control the thermostat. We opted to get additional remote sensors as our thermostat is in a dead air zone, and connecting and controlling those was trivially easy. As for the accuracy of the thermostat and the remote sensors, they line up with my other temperature sensors in the house, so I have no complaint. The thermostat is working well, keeping the house cool. Finally, I really appreciate that this thermostat is a simple buy and go, and not a subscription service like so many other 'smart' integrations these days. It doesn't need to be compatible with my 'smart house'. I don't have a 'smart house'. I got this thermostat because I needed a thermostat with the ability to do remote sensing because of the afore mentioned dead air problem in the location of the thermostat. I want it to be a little smart to use remote temperature sensing, and it does that remarkably well to keep the temperature of the house based on the average temperature of the rooms. But this thermostat is a thermostat, not an integrated subscription service.

Google was a great help in setting up my heat pump hvac wiring when on line instructions said to call support. Support never returned my call. But google made it easy.

I have had this thermostat for a few weeks and it has proven to be very efficient. The set up was easy and quick.

We've now had the Ecobee Essential for 3 months. It's ok, but the app leaves something to be desired. The schedule format is clunky compared to other apps, making it difficult to view an entire day or week at a time. Adjustments have to be made individually or copied rather than make changes to multiple days or time periods simultaneously. There's also no way to build multiple schedules, for instance when the seasons change and I want to save settings from previous seasons or years. This makes it frustrating to make significant and/or frequent changes to the schedule any time you take a day off, have a long weekend, or have large weather swings. It's possible these issues are addressed in the smart features, but they aren't intuitive to find. The thermostat itself seems to consistently be 1 degree off from what is set, so I also have to constantly make manual micro adjustments throughout the day. The good news is that the system responds quickly when I make changes, which is good because they are constantly needed.

I am very pleased with ease of use, thermostat could be set at 80 degrees as I leave in mobile home, this is done by electric company, mobile homes not insulated like normal homes!

Have had the product for 3 weeks and am completely satisfied!

Just installed an ECOBEE ESSENTIAL smart thermostat. My wife insisted a that we call a contractor. I never listen to her. And THIS TIME I was right. I needed to use the COBEE CHAT support because I was going from a battery powered unit to the "C" wire installation. The chat support was phenomenal. Even when it timed out (my fault) I was able to log right back in and the new tech could see everything that the first guy and I had done. If the thermostat works as well as the support I will be very happy. And so far it is working just fine!!! The "app" appears to be extremely simple and streamlined. Love it!!

This is the 2nd Ecobee thermostat that we have purchased. We recently moved and needed to replace the existing old Lennox thermostat. Easy to install and setup. Works great.

did not use the product yet as temperatures doesn't require using it.

I've had an Ecobee thermostat for 5 years in my Arizona home, and recently installed one in my Oregon home. Being able to control temps and schedules remotely is very nice! They work wonderfully!!
