i love my ecobee thermostats but one of them keeps going offline. it's a airbnb in FL and i cannot be present to reset. it's driving us crazy. if the AC is off we may get mold.

My old thermostat would react slowly changes and produce large temperature swings (~5 degrees) over long periods. This ecobee thermostat is agile, creating small temperature changes over short periods to keep the temperature moderation small (~2 degrees). Being smart, it also uses information about humidity to adjust the temperature. In my house, the main thermostat is located in the hottest room in the house, not a good situation. Not only does this thermostat allow the addition of satellite sensors, it allows you to choose which of these sensors are being used to determine the internal temperature of your house. So, I have told the system to never use the sensor from my main thermostat to figure out the temperature; having my main thermometer in a hot room is no longer a problem. I have had this system for less than 3 weeks, have added additional sensors in two rooms, and think it is great. Highly recommended.

I have had the thermometer for about a month. Does a good job controlling temperature in the area it is responsible for. Not easy to get familiar with aspects of the operation of the unit because it is tech based and that is not my strong point. Assistance from the company is good.

What a great way to control your cooling and heating. With all the features available on this thermostat you can’t go wrong. Have the choice to be green, friendly or not. To control you scheduled heating and cooling throughout the day or the week. Also to control the furnace fan to continuously run to circulate air through the house or have it on for a set time. So many choices all you have to do is explore, and the possibilities are there for you make your home comfortable by purchasing an ecobee thermostat.

Big beautiful numbers and colorful display. It’s very easy to read and easy to program, connect to your phone and easy to connect to your utility service. It’s super easy to personalize to your home and to your preferences.

I purchased the Ecobee Premium last week to replace my Nest Generation 2. I'm happy with the purchase overall. Installation was very easy. The thing I really like are "Comfort Settings." You set a home, away, sleep (or anything you want) comfort setting and then apply that to a day/time of the week. So, if you want to change your sleep temperature, you only need to change the "sleep comfort setting." No need to modify the schedule for every day of the week. What I love is the air quality sensor and real-time data. One example: one chart shows the trend of inside, outside, and set temperature. It's actionable data to decide to keep the system on or turn off the system and open the windows. I also like that it runs the fan for a few minutes after shutting down the AC. My Nest Gen2 did not do that. What I'm not happy with, which may or may not be an issue for you, is automatic home/away based on phone location. This worked flawlessly and independently with Nest on iPhone and Android. If you have an iPhone, you need a "HomeKit" setup (HomePod or HomePod mini or 4th generation Apple TV). iPad may work but is no longer recommended. Without one of these devices, Ecobee will not automatically go into away mode when your phone leaves the house or return to home mode when you return. This is frustrating because I wasn't expecting to have to buy other devices. If you use Android, you cannot set the Ecobee into away mode when the phone leaves the home. You also cannot create automation routines in Goole Home to change the Ecobee comfort setting (the great feature I mentioned above). You can set temperature or set it to cool, heat, or off. For example, you cannot set a routine of saying "Time for bed" and it triggers your Ecobee "sleep comfort setting." You need to set the temperature in your routine, which defeats the purpose of the one stop "comfort setting." I spent hours figuring these things out, because it didn't seem logical for them not to work. That being said, I am happy with the purchase overall. Granted, I may become annoyed over time with having to set an expensive "smart thermostat" into home/away mode only schedule or manually. I'm hoping the ability to automatically go into home/away mode based on phone location and the ability to set up Android automation with "comfort settings" comes without other device requirements.

I've had this thermostat for two weeks now and like its ease of set-up, adjustment and temp scheduling.

I have had my ecobee for a week now and it has been working great. It has a lot of information and it has been keeping my 2 story home cooler than before.

Purchased the ecobee Premium thermostat thru the Consumers Energy program. First one received was installed and did not work at all, ecobee tech on phone did all he could only to end in a nonfunctioning thermostat. Replacement installation was quite easy again. Just follow exactly what to do as shown on your phone installation guide. Everything worked and is easy to set, revise, etc. Only thing I wish it would also do is to monitor the time the filter is installed and recommend a filter change reminder on screen. Maybe that would be a great software update, please??? But all in all, pretty easy install and easy to use and modify as you wish either from the display or the app on the phone.
