Q: Is there any plastic in the pods themselves – i.e., the film that contains the detergent within the pod?

A: No there is not. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is not a plastic according to most definitions that characterize plastics as more rigid, not water-soluble, and not biodegradable. PVA is water-soluble and is in fact, biodegradable. PVA is not a microplastic and does not contribute to the generation of microplastics. Microplastics are not biodegradable and are small fragments from rigid, non-water-soluble, and non-biodegradable plastics. PVA dissolves in water (no solid polymers remain) and biodegrades in a relatively short period of time. POD WOULDNT DISSOLVE
Came to purchase this brand in effort to wash clothes in healthier product for our bodies. Was very disappointed in the pod. I ran our front load washer with regular sized dark load. Cold water. When I was transferring that load to dryer I noticed the undisolved pod still in bottom of washing machine. Wondering if I’d somehow overloaded washer I split load completely in half, returned it to washer with new pod and ran on warm water to give best chance for positive outcome. When I returned again to transfer to dryer I found same result. Undisolved pod with remnants of the outer casing still on it. I returned this to target and purchased same brand in liquid, lavender scent. We do love that. Happy to have found option for eco friendly laundry but I think the pod needs some attention. Box said cold water effective. That was definitely not my experience

Terrible
I'm all about plant based, chemical free, forever chemical free, BUT These are awful. They do not freshen or clean, and the plastic case to the pod does not completely dissolve. I find leftover soap residue on the fabric. Waste of money, time and water.

This item absolutely sucks and smells bad
I wish I could return the item, but I threw out the packaging and placed the pods in a cute jar. Not only does this not get basic laundry clear (not too dirty), but it also has a smell. Mind you I have Persil at home and gain pods and night and day different.

The packaging is easy to deal with and isn't plastic negatively impacting the environment. The environmental impact is import to me. I do wish they had fragrance rather then very little to none but great product other then that
