Q: Are these eggs pasteurized?

submitted by K C - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi KC - No they are not.

submitted byAaron - 3 years ago
  • A: NancyS's answer is incorrect. The USDA requires egg PRODUCTS to be pasteurized, not in-shell eggs. Unless the package says otherwise, in-shell eggs are not pasteurized.

    submitted bygr8dane - 8 months ago
  • A: Yes, they are definitely pasteurized. It's a Federal law. All store bought eggs have to be pasteurized per the USDA. The last answer is incorrect. It's also stated on the Eggland website.

I buy them when they are on sale because of the price. They are wonderful just like I remember as a child getting eggs from granny.

I bought these eggs and they taste great. Plus, I think the plastic, fold-over divider truly secures the eggs.

The only eggs I purchase, grew up with a father that was in the dairy business and I know what freshness is. Not to mention the humane satisfaction you get when you know the difference over the alternative.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The nutrition and flavor are great. Cage-Free can have various definitions though. These eggs really are the best tasting eggs I've tried and are healthier.

Only Eggs We Use!

Over the last few months due to surgical procedures, I was served eggs which were not my much loved Eggland's Best. I can honestly tell you there is definitely a flavor and quality difference between the eggs served in the hospital/rehabs and those my hubby fixes for me each day ( Yes, I know! I am incredibly lucky❤️) . My Eggland's eggs fry up nicer, taste much fresher, and , overall, look better! They also mix in nicely for meatloaves and other dishes requiring eggs. If the eggs aren't Eggland, they aren't in my home or tummy❤️❤️❤️

Non-renewable styrofoam carton!

1 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
bedrestmom - 22 days ago
We have been waiting patiently for Eggland’s Best to care as much about the environment as they do their chickens. Styrofoam cartons? They are not biodegradable, and when tossed in the trash, as a majority are, they will be around for hundreds of years. Styrofoam cartons are made of tiny plastic beads made from PETROLEUM -based polystyrene.

Tastes like egg

When finances are short and we need eggs then is when we buy cheaper eggs. While they are okay for baking, scrambled and over easy eggs are tasteless. Coming back to Eggland best , my first bite says that tastes like eggs should taste!

We definitely prefer Egglands over any other egg in our household. We trust that we know what is fed to the hens. There is a visible difference in Egglands compared to other eggs.
