The coaster is just like the original and works fine. I just wish the cup didn’t lose charge so quickly. I also wish it would charge with liquid in the cup while on the coaster.

The unit arrived safe and sound. I opened the package plugged it in set my mug on it and charged it. It had worked perfectly.

Just giving it 3 stars due to needing to replace it every so often when the contact point springs break. Please improve the durability.

I've been a customer for about 7 years, can't go without the mug. However, the charging method is not good. The little pins are spring loaded to maintain connection with the mug's charging rings, but those springs inevitably wear out before long and the mug stops charging. I've burned through so many of these chargers and often only notice when my coffee goes cold. I've given this feedback before, but there's got to be a better way to make this work. Qi wireless charging seems perfect to me, that way the mug could even charge on 3rd party desk mats and the like.

The coaster is smaller than the original coaster which I like. It also keeps my coffee warm. I just hope the prongs last so I don't need to order a new coaster so soon.

I LOVE my ember cup but the design of chargers causes them to fail after a year or so of use. It's very frustrating to keep having to buy the charging coasters. I also wish the packaging was minimal. It's extremely disheartening on how much waste is created between having to buy new coasters every year AND the overly designed packaging that it comes in.

It is fine. It was to replace an ember unit recently purchased in Nov. 2025 and the pins in coaster were already too low to make a charge. It is the third coaster I have needed to replace. Did not have original receipt for credit or exchange. If this happens again, this will be my last ember.

I'll go along with the 5-star default with the understanding that I have had the coaster for only a couple of weeks. This is relevant because the original coaster that came with the mug broke (one of the pins caved in) withing the first two months or so. In all fairness, it was replaced promptly at no cost. Since you "opened the door," I'll take the opportunity to express my opinion of the mug itself. The mug actually works impeccably well (5-star performance). However, the battery leaves much to be desired. I have had the mug for over a year. The battery's charge began to dwindle almost immediately (within three months from purchase). If I take it off the coaster, it discharges in less than 15 minutes. Early on, I was offered a "fix" (a multi-step process to get it to "reset"). It did not work. That is why a bought a second charging coaster. I can move from one of my two favorite coffee drinking spots to the other and always have the mug on a charger. That notwithstanding, the mug's ability to keep my coffee at the desired temperature is outstanding. If they solved the battery issue, my assessment of the mug would rise to "superb. "

You can get a replacement coaster for half the price with Ember. Also, they don’t last long as was mentioned in other comments. One of the pins always ends up being depressed, which results in no or slow charging of the mug. Agreed that for the price for these things I shouldn’t have to replace them once a year.

If the original charger coaster wasn’t broken when I received it I wouldn’t have had to BUY another one!!!

It’s really hard to give it 5 stars because while the cup is really nice they don’t last long. The coasters last even shorter. For the price the whole package should work longer than it does. This is my second cup and my 4th coaster. The cup was used 1 time a day almost every day that’s how much I like it, I just expected it to last longer than it did for the price.
