A: Yes, you could use this with smoothies. Since this product contains ground dark chocolate that is made to dissolve in a hot liquid, it would just take an additional step. We suggest creating a slurry with a small amount of the liquid you are going to be using and the dark hot chocolate powder, blending by hand until smooth. Once it is smooth add it to your smoothie mix and enjoy!

A: If you are making a prepared mug of our dark hot chocolate, based on our suggested serving size and ratio (4 tablespoons mix to 8 oz milk), there is approximately 9% cacao content, 11% sugar, and 80% milk. If you were looking for information on the dark chocolate flake that is added in the cocoa mix, it is a 60% dark chocolate flake.

A: Hey there! Great question. We don't use any alternatives to sugar largely because of our deep connection to our farmer partners at Manduvira sugar cooperative. They do such great work. Look them up! There's currently no equivalent source for fair trade, organic, and small scale farmer run sugar alternatives (that we've found). If you would like more control over your sugar content, we recommend using our baking cocoa and your sweetener of choice to make your hot cocoa.

Unlike our traditional organic hot cocoa that includes organic dried milk powder, our organic dark hot chocolate is blended without any milk powders. To achieve a traditional hot cocoa creamy mouthfeel, we suggest mixing our organic dark hot chocolate with whatever hot milk or milk alternative of your choice. One could mix our organic dark hot chocolate with just hot water, however, the mouthfeel may not feel as creamy and decadent as a traditional hot cocoa.
