I pictured the shade Bikini Snapped by Essie to be close to what the bottle appears, but unfortunately this is not the case. This is an extremely pale blue that provides the sheerest hint of color. On its own, this shade gives a shimmery, pearl effect with shifts of blue to purple. Layered over other colors, and this can take a matte to a shimmer, but will not drastically change the shade. I have owned several comparable shades and this one just is not as special as I had hoped for based on the shade of the bottle and the special effects naming. If you are looking for a transforming top coat that really gives a duo chrome or holographic effect, this is not it. I would consider this more for those who want a subtle effect that is more noticeable in natural light, but not who want nails that do major shifts in color.

The shade Riviera Rush is a vibrant turquoise, perfect for those who don't mind standing out. This shade applies slightly better and more even than the yellow Limon Cielo from this line, but I believe this formula needs to be improved to prevent streaking. I wore this once with three coats to cover the streaking and the second time with two coats, and this chipped by day two both times, which is disappointing and not what I expect from Essie. I absolutely love this shade, but I prefer Essie's Gel Line and will be sticking with that formula in the future.

Like all of our nail enamels, this color should look perfect by the second coat and used with a base coat and top coat, the color should last for well over a week.

The shade Slushy Sun is a sheer, light pink, jelly shade that is a nice everyday neutral. I'm not sure this gives the jelly effect as much as a gel polish would, as it's just a glossy pink, but it can be built up. I have several similar shades already in my collection and this one unfortunately doesn't stand out in the way I thought it would from the description. This wore well for about three days before chipping with two coats applied. This can be layered with other shades and works as a topper to help even out polishes that do not give even coverage. I wish this had better longevity and will stick with Essie's Gel Line as they last longer.

The packaging looks great to me. It shows off the beautiful color well, looks good and the lid fits well in my hand and fingers. I also feel good knowing that the formula is vegan. I think that the price is reasonable for a good nail polish. It also went on smooth, like a dream. My problem is with the sheerness. I guess I didn’t use it right, but I wanted to use just this color, not layer it with another. Two coats wasn’t near enough. I didn’t want to wait to do 4+ coats.

Yes, the Jelly Gloss colors are made for layering, but it sounds like you want your color pay off in 2 coats vs. 4. Unlike traditional colors, the Jelly Gloss shades can be used in 1, 2, 3 or even 4 layers for great color and long wear.

This color is a gorgeous translucent blue that layers well with other colors and can be used alone or as a top coat. I love how the tiny blue sparkles in this shine in the sun. It applies smoothly and dries quickly. Perfect color for summer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This polish is fun because it can be layered multiple times to darken it more of a blue with iridescent shimmer or you can use it as a topcoat on a color to give it an iridescent shimmer. This polish is easy to apply and stays on when your nails are properly prepped.I really like the uniqueness of the shimmer and think it’s very fun for summer.

It dries relatively fast and looks amazing once fully painted. Overall, this is an awesome nail polish! It’s new favorite shade for me! Highly recommended!!!
