Get it.
So glad we bought this grinder! Runs the gamut. Fine tuning is way simpler and easier than some reviewers made it out to be and the perfect fit on the lid has worked out as a simple bellows to correct any retention. Seriously for the price just buy it.

Frustrating Performance
The grinder has great features, looks, value, but it retains grinds every single time. This is a major frustration when grinding for espresso which requires very specific dosing measurements. Given that this grinder is marketed for espresso, it is a major consideration before purchasing.

Poor product would not recommend
I bought this product, and it worked only one time. I went through all of the trouble shooting and it still is not working. I have sent a request for a replacement, and I have yet to hear from Fellow.

Grind Retention Dissapointing
Excessive grind retention (at least two grams), which is disappointing. Otherwise a fine grinder. Grind consistency is good. Quiet too.

sleek design, clean, I love it
so far so good, I've used my Ode for Aeropress and Toddy cold brew. Consistent grind size and the cup catching the grounds I also use as an indicator to pause the grinding so that I don't burn the beans!

Great Grinder
I love everything Fellow. Perfect grinder for the price. Only thing I noticed was the amount of extra grinds left in machine once complete.

Great product
I love the look of the opus grinder and how quiet it is. Currently using for French press but can’t wait to test out with the Espresso Series 1.

Grinds Beautifully
We have been using the grinder for a couple of weeks now. It is simple and easy to use. It is more efficient and quieter than our previous blade grinder, and it grinds more consistently. The only downside that I can see is the amount of coffee that ends up on the counter. Even though the catch is magnetically aligned to the grinder, a fair amount of coffee ends up outside of the catch.

High quality machine, with some opportunities for improvement
Going from hand grinding to this has been a serious upgrade!!! It is incredibly consistent in the grind size. A couple things that are a bit less that expected for something on the pricier side: 1. The options for grind time seem pretty basic, rather that being able to have an option that is less than 30 seconds (based on amnt of beans?) 2. While it is advertised as anti-static, it is not really. You have to push air thru the grinder and tap the lid to make sure all the grounds fall into the container and the container itself is not anti-static.

gets very very messy
messy, just check youtube, those videos complaining about how messy it gets are true. very painful to use. fyi spray a bit moisture won't solve the issue completely. needs lots of patting and shaking (and still can't get 100% of the beans out).

Hey there, thanks for sharing your experience with Opus. I completely understand your frustration. Some of the issues you’ve noticed can come up depending on the beans you’re using, your environment, and how often the grinder is cleaned. Here are a few things that may help: Retention/Mess: Opus typically retains around 1 gram of grounds, or up to 2 grams with darker, oilier beans. To keep retention low, regular cleaning is important. Pay special attention to any buildup below the burrs and near the exit chute’s anti-static device. If the ionizer needles get covered with coffee, they stop working effectively. You can find step-by-step cleaning guidance in this video: https://help.fellowproducts.com/hc/en-us/articles/12697728829083-How-do-I-clean-and-maintain-Opus Here are a couple of daily tricks that can help too: -RDT (Ross Droplet Technique): lightly mist your beans with water before grinding to reduce static and mess. Following the method shown in this video can make a significant difference in your grinder's performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0Dh1W40ILY -Use the lid as a bellows: after grinding, press the load bin lid in and out a few times to push out any retained grounds. Mess/retention won’t ever be zero (that’s true for most grinders), but these tweaks + cleaning usually bring it down to expected levels. We hope this information is helpful and gets you back to making great coffee! If you try these steps and still don’t see an improvement, please reach out to our team at hello@fellowproducts.com. - The Fellow Team

Fellow Gets It Right—Well Done!
I’ve been using the Fellow Aiden Coffee Maker and Opus Conical Burr Grinder daily for almost two months, and they’ve completely elevated my morning routine. Both look fantastic, are easy to use, and clean up effortlessly. Aiden’s presets (and surprisingly great cold brew) have helped me learn the nuances of different beans, while the Opus gives me the flexibility to fine-tune each pot for distinct flavors. I now grind my coffee fresh every time and appreciate it more than ever. Highly recommend—well done, Fellow!

AMAZING, just give it a few little taps
This grinder is AMAZING!!! I have so much control over the flavor of my coffee with it and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new grinder. The only thing I would say that it has an issue with is how sometimes grounds get stuck, so I just have to tap the machine a little so it doesn’t get on my counter. Still, I didn’t think that could take it down to a 4 star with how consistent and sleek this machine is.

Quiet enough and good value.
Been using this for about 3 months now. Very impressed for the price. Grinds quietly enough that I can use it without waking others in the house. Good looking form and well functioning.

Solid Grinder From Course to Espresso and Everything In Between!
I would actually like to rate this 4.5 stars, but I am limited by the rating system, so I rated it a 4. Overall, it is very good. It is well designed and well made. It handles a large variety of grind sizes from very course to espresso. Static doesn't build up too well (especially if you're spritzing your beans prior to grinding) and it's easy to clean. Since this grinder is regularly used for both espresso and pour over preparations, I was hoping the grind setting would be a little more repeatable, but it feels slightly different (though, there certainly could be other factors influencing this). The grind cup has a ridge to fit on a portafilter, so you can dump the grinds right in. This would be convenient if not for making dosing by weight somewhat awkward.
