Q: What is the size of the book?

A: This is the smaller version, a typical hand-sized board book -- the only way I've been able to tell is that the large one has 14 pages and this one has 26.

Q: Are the pages hard so a toddler won’t tear them?

A: Yes they are hard and durable. My boy has had this book since he was 10 months. He is now almost two and is intact. He loves it and uses it very often.

We have "First Bible Words" "First Christmas Words" and now this one. Love them all. You definitely have to engage if your child is on the younger side, lots of twittering and pointing at the visuals will get your kid saying these words in no time and recognizing the items in public as well.

Pros: Great classic book with bright, eye-catching colors. Good for repetitive learning. My LOs both love this book. Cons: There are a few odd things. Is Guinea pig really a first word? Some pics are the same (pic of dump truck for both “truck” & “dump truck”). And it has both cat & kitten which is a little confusing for baby since it’s the same animal. (LO is supposed to distinguish the age of the dog/cat?) Overall good book. But a handful of simple changes would make it so much better.
